The details are a bit sketchy at this point, but from what we know there was a murder 3 blocks from where we live.. Some man knocked on their door at 2 am last night and the wife opened the door.. Man asked for her husband and when she went to get him the man came inside... Was able to tie up the wife and the daughter and killed the husband right in front of them.. SICKENING!! This is a small town of 13000 and has been relatively safe since we have resided here.. It's nothing for us to leave the front door open at night while we snooze in the livingroom.. NO MORE.. I don't know how many times hubby has answered the door at 2 am in the morning to a man standing there asking to use the phone or asking for a ride.. The SAME man.. Hubby has even given him a ride.. The last time he showed up we didn't answer the door and he left.. This will NOT happen again.. I'm tempted to call the police and give a description of the man... Keep this family in your prayers.. I can't even begin to imagine the nightmare they are going through right now..

What comes across to me is your husband's practical demonstration of service and love to others and God's protection of him. May God bless your influence in the community.

I agree.. He loves helping others.. He did say that we are going to discuss some things in relation to safety tonight when he gets home.. He's really frazzled over this.. The last time the man came to the door I was really concerned.. Weird that someone would knock on the door at that hour to begin with.. When hubby gave him a ride I prayed for protection over him the whole time.. This world is really getting bad.. There's no such thing as a "safe" place anymore.. Lord come quickly!!!

The darker the night, the more brightly shines the light.

UGH! How scary! I love our house, but I hate that the main doors are glass and we have such large windows. I don't like being home with the kids when hubby goes out of town. It would be so easy for someone to break in. :?

Scary stuff to say the least. I worry about my family when I am away, which is quite frequently. Trying to impress upon my daughter how many bad men there are out there with bad intentions.

Oh my Lord, that is so scary!!! We live in a duplex and the BEST thing I LOVE about ti is that is has a heavy metal door with a peephole in the front. If someone knocks or rings the doorbell when DH isn't home, I just don't answer it if I don't know the person. One time when DH was gone on some errands after dark (gassing up the truck and so on), there was a knock at the door and when I looked out the peephole, someone's finger was covering it. I ddin't answer but it was scary none the less. I hope you can find some peace amid this aweful trajedy.
