Long story on why it's taken so long, but I FINALLY am heading in to the dentist this morning. I don't have time for the details because it's a walk-in thing and I have to be in line by 8 to get on the list, but would you please pray for me this morning? I'm still really scared, but the pain has finally outweighed my fear.
You know how they sometimes have the parent sit in the chair and the child sit in their lap, well that's been my prayer this morning. I need Jesus to sit in the chair and hold me in his lap...silly, maybe, but that's the picture I need to get me through this.
    Thanks for you prayers!

    Hope you are filling better.
I was just at the ER with tooth pain (I was swollen on one side of my mouth) and they ened up having to call the duty dentist and they gave me a temp filling. At my exam earlier this week when the other dentist was poking around loosened up the crack filling and it fell out a day later.

Thanks for asking! I finally have the chance to update...
So, I misunderstood the receptionist when I called the first time to try to schedule an appointment. I thought that they started scheduling on the first Wednesday of the month, when actually they ONLY do scheduling on that day. So, I missed the day for scheduling a Feb appointment. I was trying to wait it out until the first Wednesday of March (which would be tomorrow) and then beg them to see me on Friday-Dh's day off. But, the pain was getting worse and worse. I finally called and asked what OTC pain meds I could take and the approved me to take Tylenol. Between that and many packs of gum, I made it until last week. It was at the point where I couldn't sleep and even breathing hurt. Thursday, I was having to talk a lot for schoolwork and it was killing me. I went into my bathroom and had a little meltdown begging God to take the pain away and telling him how frustrated I was with having to wait and not being able to afford to just go to another dentist to get it fixed and with not being able to take anything stronger for pain because of the other meds...after that, it still hurt, but I didn't feel quite so hopeless.
I had an appointment at the clinic pharmacy Thursday afternoon. When I walked up to check-in at the front desk, there was a sign taped to the counter that said, "Walk in dental Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. Registration 7:30-8:00am." I've been going to this clinic for over two years and have NEVER heard anything about them doing dental walk-ins! So I asked the receptionist about it and she said all I had to do was be on the list by 8am.
Friday morning, I made sure I was there by 7:25 and I was the 5th person in line at the clinic. I was 3rd on the list for the dental. The dentist said I had a tooth that was cracked and needed to be pulled on the top right in the back. Weirdly enough, the pain was on the bottom right, but he said he didn't see anything there.
I was scared to death but I made it through. It helped that there was an elderly lady on the other side of the partition who was also getting her tooth pulled and she acted like it was nothing....couldn't let her be braver than I was. :)
I came home, took some pain meds, and went straight to bed. I slept from noon to about 6, then got up for a couple of hours and went back to be. Saturday, it was a little sore, but amazingly, the pain on the bottom was gone! They set me up for an exam appointment so they can check out everything else.
I am so thankful for the way God answered my prayer! He knew what I needed before I even asked.
Thank you so much for the prayers! God is good!

I am SO glad you got that thing taken care of.. Now maybe I can muster up enough courage to get my dental work done.. I have wisdom teeth that need to come out among a million other things.. One of my wisdom teeth is loose but also rotted and I've been to the dentist 4 different times for this and they get ready to pull it and then check my blood pressure and say they can't do it.. GRRRRR. It's all nerves but I can't help it.. I could go to another dentist but $$ is an issue.. Wish they would just put me under and do all the dental work at once.. But that's not going to happen..

My blood pressure was WAY up when I got there, 160/110. It was a combination of pain and nerves...It was so scary and when they left me sitting there for about 30 minutes between when the Dr. looked at me and they came in to numb my gums, I really, really considered getting up and leaving. The pain finally outweighed the fear, though.
I'm so glad I had it done! I feel so much better!

I am glad for you too! My mouth is proof I have had my share of dental pains so when I read of your pain on bottom I could totally understand! we have transference of pain, thats apparently what I have too with a tooth that has the nerve still I can feel the pain for the tooth that does not have nerve but apparently is my problem tooth? its weird isnt it?
I will pray that your apt goes well that was set up and for the rest of your dental visits to be as easy.

Thank you. I went in last Monday for my exam and he found 2 very small cavities on the opposite side in the back. He said those will need fillings and I have an appointment to go back and have that done this summer. He also set me up to have a cleaning next month, which makes me a little nervous because I know it will be painful after nearly 17 years. But, I made it through the worst part, so I'm sure I can handle this too. :) Actually, I'm very surprised that I didn't have more problems. My mom says I must have gotten my dad's teeth. He only had one cavity his whole life.

WOW! He was blessed! I have almost a mouth full of crowns, almost all of my teeth have a filing in them at least and several of my teeth are held together with pins.
My dentist said they dont do things the same way so he can tell how old my teeth fixes are... by what they did, now he wants to replace things that are not bothering me though and I am refusing.
