We do, always have but some years it doesn't seem like a break to me. Not since the olders went to college. so today I allowed ds to play on the computer all day pretty much, aside from minimal chores. Then, because in outside schools they have parties for holiday things I gave him snack city ( somewhat healthy but still munchies!)

When all three were little we would decorate the house for the holidays, whatever one it was with streamers and everything then enjoy a theme party.

We took spring break off because we have one in public school and the others gripe when he is home and they are schooling.. Nothing gets done but fighting anyway... We also took the next week off because my niece from colorado popped in and stayed so two weeks down.. :/ Life happens.. it was nice to see Morgan though.. Wish i had known and we wouldn't have taken the week off before.. it's hard to get momentum back when you take breaks like this as often as we seem to.. I still think my kids have learned more than they would have in public school.. Especially since DS15 came back home..

The neighborhood kids are off this week, but I told Phillip that we weren't off, because we're going to DC in a few weeks. However, I also told him that if he got his work done early (or if he was willing to work at night), he could play in the early afternoon with the other kids!

We normally would have taken this week off, because DH would be off work.

We took Friday and today off, but aren't taking a full spring break. DD14's swim coach added morning practices for this week, so we are having to work around that.

We took Good Friday off and are having a light week because my older two are on their college spring break.

We always take off days that my husband is off, which is good Friday. Then it just depends on what is happening. This year dh is taking 3rd week in April, do that will be a spring break for us. Some years we work through, because nothing else is happening.

We dont really follow the ps break schedule anymore. This week we are just plugging along like it's a normal week. I don't even think my kids realize ps is out this week.

I put a week into our schedule for spring break, but it's flexible. We actually ended up taking time off here and there in January (travel), February (grandparents), and March (dh had some "use it or lose it" vacation time maxed out). We'll be taking a couple of days in mid-April (more of dh's time off), so really, we're kinda breaking all over the place this year. We're also planning to start next year in July rather than August so we can take time off in the Fall while I'm working a lot (I'm always busier in Fall with holiday sales).

We had three days off for Easter. I'm ready to head back tomorrow :) We are actually on schedule to be done with school a week before the local schools. That has never happened before. Yay!

Nope. :) LOL :) My kids are much more concerned with being done by the end of May than they are with having a break now.

Although, I didn't get my planning done this weekend with MIL moving in and Easter, so we're having a light week of just the basics. To my kids this IS a vacation! Schooling for 2 hours in the morning (if they stay focussed!) and the rest of the day off! :)

It seems we may be taking a break after all... DD11 got sick on Sunday (We aren't sure what other than a UTI, but she's still nauseous.) and is still not much better. DD14 has developed a nasty cold, so I have lots of yuckiness here!!

Hey Krista thats how my kids were back when they were your kids ages. Now that I just have ds15.6 (lol) we were glad to have a day we did not have to worry if we did school completely. He knows his evaluation with me ( Parent teacherparent conference hahaha) is coming and I will show him how many lessons in each class per day he has to do to finish at the end of may like he wants too. I think once we do that he will jump on it.
I personally need this week ( I cant recall ever really wanting a break) because I am putting all my summer programs down on computer- Writing up five days of story time, Skits, packaging up the VBS for a city as well as setting separate price details for a country one all before Thursday when I meet with City church's kids pastor to go over dets.
at least my exercises for shoulder and knees now, is only an hour and a half lol! But today I am done with that part! Just normal stuff... I think I am taking a break from telling ds to do school and planning his week up to Friday Friday we have co op .

We take off here and there. We were off for Good Friday and yesterday, just because lol.
We school all year, and even when we are "schooling" we are still learning :D

We are still doing school although I rearranged something for a couple of light days. Dd had some friends from church over yesterday afternoon so I made sure that she could get her work done in the morning. Friday I am trying to make light too but we will see what gets done today and tomorrow.

We had a week off here a couple weeks ago for spring break. It was also the time I was reevaluating our work.

Then for Easter we took of the Friday before because their cousins were off and visiting, so they all got to play outside most of the day. We took Monday off just because. ;)

SO during ds' break he has been working for people by creating crafted people for one of his online games, and writing story lines. I love that even on break he is doing brain using stuff.
Today will be sunny though and he will have baseball so he will be doing exercises for that. We ( he and I ) never really have a break totally from writing. :)
