Does anybody have recommendations of a program to teach art, especially painting? I'm looking for something for my 12 year old that would cover different styles and techniques. Perhaps a book, website, or DVD. I'm not a painter and art classes are kind of pricey.

I bought artistic pursuits this year, total waste of money. I have Evan Moor's How to Teach Art to Children, while geared for you to teach younger kids I think it would work for what you are looking for. Another book I have and actually liked when I used it with my oldest is called something like Art Basics for Children it has been my fav so far.

We use Discovering Great Artists by MaryAnn Kohl. It is great!

Thomas Kinkaid has a program, too, on DVD. You might check that out!
