I had to share this link. My SIL is a food blogger, and she shared this post. Tom Collichio contacted her about using her story in his address to congress! It's an amazing post. She's an amazing woman. Thought I'd share it, in case it would be beneficial to someone here! http://www.cookingwithanne.com/2013/04/food-bloggers-against-hunger.html
I am heart broken and so proud (of her) after reading that. What an amazing strength she has and even more so to share her story. <3
Proud doesn't even begin to cover it. She's an AMAZING woman. And has been thru so much adversity in her life. I always tell her that I want to be her when I grow up (her birthday is 12 days before mine, we were born the same year). LOL I do love her!
I totally commend her! What an AMAZING woman she is!!! Hunger is definately a silent epidemic.. Our church recently started a ministry called "bags of blessings" where school children recieve bags of food on Friday evenings to take home because some don't have meals when school is not going on.. The referrals have been overwhelming, and we live in a small close-knit town!! It's something that I didn't realize was such a problem until I worked at the Boys and Girls club this past summer.. You could tell some of the children hadn't eaten a meal since they were last fed at the club the day before.. It's heartbreaking..
