I would suggest we ask for another restricted forum. And each time you have something to sell, you could start a "new thread" that has the text name as the subject of the thread. If you've got a big list, you can title the tread "Many titles: elementary" or something like that which will give an idea so people would have an idea if they should look or not.

I have Amy checking with Amanda to see if that can be done... but for now there is a thread started. I will get around to listing things soon.

Chime... lol count me in what ever it ends up being, I have a few things 'sitting around' on book shelves. And Im more than not likely to go for low cost just to get it out to someone who will use it and be blessed.

I'm obviously late to this discussion lol, but I wanted to reply to the original subject of this thread to say that I'm not sure I'll ever buy used again. I bought a used curriculum from someone on another board. She stated it was a complete kit, only missing one item. Someone else posted on the same thread asking if it included the unused student sheets, and she replied yes. I took that to mean the student sheets were all there unused (thinking she may have made copies of them like I've heard of others doing to preserve resale value). She was selling for half of new retail price, so I thought that was a good deal and bought it. When I received it I looked through it quickly and it looked good except for one missing book which I figured was easy to forget about so I didn't worry about it and I put it away for a couple of months. Then I pulled it out to start organizing it and preparing to use it and found out half of the student sheets were missing, also. I sent her a message to find out if maybe she had misplaced or forgotten to include the student sheets, but she messaged me back and basically told me that I had not read the original listing correctly and that she had said half the student sheets were not included, which I know she did not state in the original listing. Anyway, long story short, she did what she could to rectify the misunderstanding, but not without giving me a thinly veiled insult first. I wanted to leave her some positive feedback for trying to remedy the situation, but couldn't bring myself to do it because I couldn't honestly say I would purchase from her again. But between the purchase price of the curriculum I bought, plus all the things I needed to purchase to fill in the "complete kit", plus shipping (plus the extra Paypal fee that she charged me for not using the "personal" option...ugh that should have been a red flag I suppose), I came out pretty close to the retail price of the entire curriculum kit new, and would have gladly paid that extra little bit to avoid the headache and annoyance that I went through.

The whole transaction made me gun shy to ever try to buy used online again. I think face-to-face would be fine since you can see it all there and hopefully make sure you know what you're getting. But when you can buy a new curriculum from the publisher or company that put it together for almost the same price as used, and get somewhat of a recourse if things aren't as advertised, I think it's worth it.

Honeybee... I purchased a book for MFW last year. It was sold to me as the actual recommended book, but it was actually a different book with the same name. By the time I realized it wasn't the correct book (It didn't go with the curriculum at all!), it was too late. I don't think it was an honest mistake because I bought it with several others from a MFW group. I got stuck with a book I couldn't use, couldn't resell, and still needed to purchase the correct book!

sixcloar, that is so frustrating! You would think that people who are selling used MFW curriculum would adhere to the Christian principles that they are supposedly teaching their kids. Sounds like another vote to go direct to manufacturer. I'm sure the majority of sellers are honest people, but to me it's not work the risk anymore. Especially for expensive items.

Latest annoyance... Today I contacted someone about a book listed on HSClassifieds for $5. She emailed back and said it was available, but she would only sell to those who purchased a minimum of $10 worth of items before shipping costs. :/ UGH...guess I'll look somewhere else.

I missed the begining of this discussion. But I think it would be great if we started a for sale and wanted thread. I would feel much safer getting stuff from you guys than that other forum LOL

You should be able to get to it just fine. Go to Other Conversation: Restricted. You need at least I think 50 posts, and have joined up at least 50 days to be able to get there. And I'm pretty sure you qualify on both accounts!
