So, I started a blog. I am hoping to eventually make money off of it, but right now it is in the very early stages. I would be so grateful if you all could take a look and tell me what you think. Please be honest, I promise I won't be offended if you hate it! http://morethanmommmy.blogspot.com/
I'm not a blog person, so I probably am not the one to ask! But it looks just fine to me. My only "complaint" is that when I clicked on the "View My Complete Profile" button, it pulled a larger picture and that was it. I expected it to give me more information about you. Your writing seemed just fine!
I enjoyed the library post. Totally reminds me of my life. But I like that it got me thinking about how better to enjoy these visits with my kids rather than rush through them as fast as I can!
That's what got me thinking about it as well. I would take the kids to the library, but it was just awful taking them to look for a book or two for myself. Now, I can pick up my books and start reading them while the kids check out the library computers or toys!
Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to look! I am thinking about doing a weekly or monthly 'Playing to Learn' post. What do you think?
Oh, yeah! And now the library closest to me had all non-fiction in one area, regardless of whether they're for children or adults. It wasn't like that when Rachael was little, but they decided it was "too embarrassing" for adults who weren't good readers to look in the children's section. Yeah, right! I told them that if my oldest needed a non-fiction book, instead of helping her to get it while my preschoolers sat on the floor or in the chair RIGHT THERE looking at books, I now had to take ALL THREE to the adult section, and worry about the younger two while helping the older, because I sure wasn't going to send my 7yo into the adult stacks on her own! Plus there's plenty of books fine for adults that children shouldn't be exposed to quite yet, plus it's hard to find a thin children's book sandwiched in between all the adult books, plus the adult reference librarians often don't know what is and isn't appropriate for children!!! We finally stopped going to that library and now go to one that not only has a wonderful children's section, but excellent children's librarians who are VERY knowledgeable about children's lit! (And besides, my kids are older now, so it's no longer an issue!)
Thanks again everybody for your feedback, it is really helpful. I added a Facebook page if anyone is interested in following me. https://www.facebook.com/MoreThanMommmy
