We just got a piano and I am hoping to teach my boys some for music. Can any suggest good beginners books for young children? Thank you!

Do you play? How old are your children?

My 5 year old uses this series

She takes lessons from a teacher. I know nothing about music. DD seems to respond very well to these. So far I'm keeping up.:)

    Enjoy your new piano!

I've been teaching lessons for over 20 years. I use Alfred and love them! I taught myself using Alfred when I was 8 and went on to major in music in college. :)

I do play a little. I had beginner lessons for a year and then just played on my own when I was younger. I feel confident I could teach them for a bit. My boys are 5 and 3. The 3 y/o is most interested and likes to sit next to me and copy my playing

As far as motor skills and attention span go, most teachers will tell you that children can't/shouldn't learn piano until at least 8. Personally, I think that's bologna. Starting at 3 and going at the child's pace and interest level is wonderful. :)
