Pretty self explanatory..... what subjects do you cover on a regular basis? I am trying to put together a plan for my kiddos for next year and I am having a hard time feeling like I've covered it all but not covered it TOO much!

Daily: Bible, math, language arts (grammar/spelling/reading), handwriting

We do writing assignments that go along with our science or history and sometimes will also cover a writing unit to teach things like how to write a paragraph or short story.

    Science: MWF

History: this year TThF, next year M-Th

I don't really add elective type things into our school schedule at this point. They do art when they want. They will begin learning an instrument within the next year. They just started taking tae kwon do and they are naturally very active.

The subjects we cover together every week are:

    Daily: Math & Reading
1-3x/week: Spelling, Vocabulary, Writing, History, Science

Everything else: Religion, Art, PE, Technology, & Health are via outside classes, online classes, or independent work.

It's in my siggy. We do most of it daily. (The siggy is what we'll start in July. Younger is finished for the year, and older is almost finished.)

4 days a week we do math, language, history, science Bible. Monday afternoons we rotate through which 2-3 subjects we have time for.

We go to a co-op once a week for misc. stuff (that's the Monday morning bit of our week).

Daily lessons include: math, English, spelling, geography, Reading

Sometimes we throw in history and science but not often. Mostly just the subjects above.. next year I am going to make sure we get history and science in at least 2x a week.

Ok so what you ladies listed out are about what I'm thinking about-with one exception. I keep seeing 'Language arts.' I know this is stupid but what does LA mean to you? To me it means working reading and writing into everyday life and maybe doing research papers in high school but I'm reasonably certain that I'm missing something.

For us language arts breaks down into literature/reading comprehension, spelling, vocabulary, writing skills, and handwriting. This is for the 2nd grade level -- sure it's very different for other grade levels and different approaches...
