This hasn't been a great week for me. I've tried to watch what I was eating, but my exercise hasn't been good at all. My knees were hurting after a couple of weeks of cardio (I think I was doing too much, too soon), so I've only done some strengthening. I haven't stepped on the scale. I'm scared!!

Here is an interesting visual of the calories in certain foods (the list is not that big, but enough to sort of show how many veggies you can eat for 200 calories versus candy).

    http://www.wisegeek.com/what-does-200-calories-look-like.htm

I am still doing well. If my scale is accurate, I am down 9 pounds after 5 weeks. I am kind of sceptical, so I ordered new batteries for it. I know I have lost, but am surprised at how quickly I am losing it. If it is true, I am doing great and not struggling (just a few random thoughts of wanting to jump off the health train). What I am still doing: smaller portions (as in 1 serving, not going back for seconds), heavier on the veggies, more water, avoiding candy (if I do have a treat, I have a bite or two, not the whole thing, just enough to taste it and feel like I had a treat).

I go back to the doctor on Friday and I think I have done well. I love Greek Yogurt because it gives me the protein plus my sweet fix. Peach is my favorite. I am walking a lot more than I have in years and I am using hand weights too. I drink a little Diet Coke each day but nothing like before. I was really going overboard on Diet Coke before starting this diet clinic. I love water now. Never thought I would feel that way. I am trying to get the nerve up to get rid of my clothes that are too big now. I may take some to the consignment shop this weekend. Maybe if they are gone I will be afraid to gain any weight back since it would cost so much to replace them!

Good Saturday Morning everyone! It is cool and looks like rain here. I was hoping to go walking with Emily today but we may have to use the treadmill instead. I walked a lot last night at Relay for Life. It was fourth mile track and I didn't like that as much as the mile track at the park. I track my walking by minutes anyway but the short track was just boring to me. I went back to the doctor yesterday and she thought I was doing great. Next month she takes my measurements again to see how many inches I have lost. It seems silly to go to the weight loss clinic when I know what I need to do, but it helps keep me motivated to know I go each month. I am down 26 pounds by her scales. I still haven't gotten rid of my bigger clothes but I am sorting and trying on things in my closet. I have a big stack of jeans that no longer fit. Sort of sad to see some of them go because I loved them so much but a smaller size feels so much better. I feel wonderful, except for the pollen allergy, and have a lot more energy now. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Drink that water and don't give up! I really wish I had done this a long time ago.

This may sound strange to ask on here but here goes.

The more weight I lose the more I see the need for Spanx or something similar. I have looked in the stores here, very limited in our small town, and I have been looking online. The prices for Spanx are very high and the local Walmart, Goodys, and Belk have very few choices. Does anyone know if the Spanx brand is worth the high price or is there a brand similar but cheaper? The type I am looking for would look like a one piece bathing suit. Any suggestions appreciated greatly! I tried looking for Spanx on Ebay but they are still very expensive.

A bad weekend for me. My second son graduated from GA Tech, and ate some of his graduation cake. Also, my little granddaughter was with us for two days, and I ate some candy with her. Both indulgences break my strict rule. Plus, it's been raining cats and dogs, so I haven't been out running for a few days. Hopefully, I can get back into the swing of things this week.

The rain is making it tough here too. I need some sunny warm days so I can get outside! It is so cool here today that we built a fire and my daughter wanted hot chocolate.

I bought mine at walmart. Has worked well for me.
When looking, they are sometimes referred to as "shapewear"

    Good luck~!

I will look at Walmart's online selection. Our Walmart had very little to choose from. Thanks.

I'm held steady for the past couple of weeks. It rained all last week, so getting outside didn't happen. Got to get motivated to MOVE again!!

My friend and I are doing a sit-up/crunch and push-up challenge. Google 200 sit up challenge and you'll see what it is. So I have been doing that - but didn't notice that there are rest days - ooops.... but I'm ok with it. I did "tweek" my shoulder this Sunday and it still is sore so I didn't do as much as I wanted to today - I was sore and tired since I didn't get a lot of sleep because of the shoulder.

I started adding in Bob Harper's DVD's to my cycle.... I like Jillian Michaels - but I was getting bored (which I think my biggest problem is)....

I am bouncing around 145-147 right now. My Dr doesn't want me going below 137 but I probably will because I would like to be 125. His reasoning didn't make sense and I couldn't find ANY research to back it up based on my height and body composition.

I am officially wearing a size 6 in jeans which is super exciting for me. I even gave away all my big jeans! I am tracking everything I eat - and I'm proud to actually see my ab muscles on occasion - plus my legs don't jiggle as much anymore :)

DH is laughing at me because I feel the need to show him my biceps all the time - he calls them my "Johnny Bravo" poses.

My diet hasn't been as good as it should have been lately and I think that's why the weight hasn't dropped. But the beer was worth it and so was the cookie :)

You are keeping me inspired! I can't imagine ever being in a size 6 but a 12 would be nice. I am about 5'7" or a dab taller depending on which nurse measures me. I used to be 5'9". I hate that I have shrunk. I think a size 12 would look very good for me. I will be fine with a 14 though. I am almost there but don't plan on stopping yet.

Well, I've sure got my walking in!!! We're in Washington, DC. Friday we went hiking at Great Falls, Va. Saturday was the National Mall. Sunday (after church) we went to the National Zoo and saw pandas. Today we were back at the National Mall for the Air and Space Museum, then to a tour of the Capitol, and then to Ford Museum. Tomorrow WE REST!!! before heading home on Wednesday. So with all that walking, I sure hope I've lost SOMETHING!!! (And we really haven't been stuffing ourselves with junk food!)

Unfortunately, it appears I am suffering from shin splints. I tried to go running yesterday, and the pain in my right leg was just too much. After just one mile, I hobbled home. I have my general checkup tomorrow, which is good timing, and hope the doctor can recommend something. It's frustrating not to be out running.

YOU ARE SO CLOSE TO ME JACKIE!!!!! Seriously - 45 minutes away!!

This has been a process - since July of last year. I didn't expect to be a size 6 at all... I was actually happy in a 10... but now I'm thrilled in a 6 and not really working at sizes anymore - more on tightening up (I HATE the extra flab around my mid-section at the moment).... the weight will come off anyways - but I want the inches off more :)

well, congrats to all of you who can stick with this.. I can't seem to keep up.. i think I've gained about 5 pounds so I'm really irritated with myself.. I had lost 3 and now I'm 5 lbs heavier than I was when I started this.. I need to drink more water but instead i grab a soda.. The water from the faucet tastes AWEFUL! And I can't afford the bottled water so grrr. That's my main issue. My portion sizes are still small I just can't stay away from the sugar stuff.. I'm with Chicamarun, I am a size 10 but this flabby belly and arms have GOT to go!!!!

I still drink soda - I try to limit it to 1 bottle a day - but today is a 2 diet coke day ;)

The biggest thing that helped me - is TRACK EVERYTHING!! Seriously - I ate cookie dough this past week - I survived :) but I tracked it.... I know I was over in calories - but not by much....

I also have a 1 liter bottle I refill of water all the time.... I have multi-filtered well water though so I survive.

I have to get rid of the jiggle ;) I'm working on it....

We stayed at a friend's time share in National Harbor. Leaving tomorrow AM. I'll be glad to be back home, but this is probably one of the best vacations we've had!

Checking in for the first time in forever...

I haven't been doing so good at all. We've been eating out a lot. Dollar menus and pizza.

But it's midnight and I'm taking a break from filling my freezer with real homemade food that I can simply toss in a crock pot or stock pot and have a meal. I was late going grocery shopping this week by 3 days LOL

Friday morning I'm heading back to the store & I'm going to stock up some more and do another freezer prep day with a little more variety to my freezer. My store had GREAT deals on chicken tenders, pork chops and London broil. The same things will be on sale when I go back, so I'm excited, I can do a ton of different recipes with London broil and chicken tenders.

Tomorrow I hope to get a week or two worth of bread mixes bagged up so we'll be eating real bread too. I didn't buy any at the store today, we still have a few slices of some sprouted grain bread in the fridge to last until tomorrow...

So, now that we'll be eating real food again, maybe I can get back to the gym again too!
