Do you sell your used materials? I may be strange...

but I am having a hard time at the thought of selling the curriculum that we are finished with. Part of it is sentimental I am sure. Also, we used MFW so there are a lot of different books and I am finding myself wanting to keep certain ones but then feeling badly about wanting to sell the set other than in its entirety.

I must be losing it. I am not a hoarder of sentimental things. I do love books though.....

If I can manage to part with them (BIG if) is anyone interested in MFW ECC or MFW-K? I have both. I am not planning on using them again so I should get rid of them. Sigh.

I get what your saying. I don't have curriculum to sell but I feel like that with our books. We have so many books, I wanted to give some away to the neighbor kids and make room for more books. As I was piling books to give and keep it was so hard to get a give pile! I eventually did do it (though not too big) and the kids were happy.....but yeah, it's tough because I always feel like we can use that book.

I have to sell my stuff in order to purchase for the next year. It isn't always easy, but as it starts selling, it gets easier!;)

With that said, I am looking for both MFW K and ECC! K only if it is second ed.

This time next year I'll be looking for MFW ECC.

I plan to reuse most of our stuff with upcoming kids so I don't have much to sell but there are a few things that I really could get rid of as we aren't using it and don't intend to use it any longer but I haven't yet. I think for me it's more the pain of selling online, having to ship, getting a good price, hoping the post office delivers it etc. It's also why I have a TON of cloth diapers I'll never use again sitting in a bag and box.

I'm glad I still have one that will bring up the rear that hasn't started yet..lol I don't have to worry for a while yet.

I don't buy package things so it's not a big deal for me to break things up and I do sell things that don't work for us, but so far I haven't had to sell off any big loves here. I did have a full Sonlight Core that I sold off.. and it killed me to sell some of the books with it... a few I just couldnt' sell and a few I knew I could rebuy cheap so I sold those with the core. I think the buyer had to buy like 2 or 3 books.. but I had built the core from scratch so I figured they could find a few books for the huge discount they got off of what it would have cost new from SL.

Yes. I realistically won't use it again, and it helps pay for the new stuff. HOWEVER, there ARE some things I chose to keep. I was debating on whether or not to sell MOH 1, and DH told me he wanted me to keep it! Also, because of three kids, I've reused stuff. I'm selling more now that Phillip is finishing up with it.

We do sell the majority of our books. I do occasionally hold on to one or two of my favorite books (especially literature) if I think we might use them again. I have kept all the Apologia elementary books since dd uses them as reference material, after a while though I will sell them too.

I am glad to know I'm not the only one who is developing an irrational attachment to our materials!

Yes the K is 2nd edition. I have to look at what *should* come with both sets and what I can get rid of and then I will post back here later on today with the list. If you want to buy them then they are yours. We'll talk price once I put it all together. :)

Sounds good! I'll PM you my email address. That would probably be easier. But you do what you want.

I sell almost all of our used curriculum. There are a few I keep because they are great everyday resources or they are a nice addition to our bookshelf. Besides, we already have a lot of books. I also use the extra money to help purchase new curriculum.

Me, too. I also keep the things that I will use with a younger child. I do have a hard time getting rid of literature books. I have many of the FIAR books though we haven't used it in a couple of years. (I'm saving them to read to future grandchildren. :))

I also have a hard time letting go of some of our curriculum. I have a lot of kids though that I can still use most of it for. I do sell off stuff that doesn't work for us because there is no reason to hang on to something just so it can take up space.

i am looking to by used materials for my soon to be 2nd grader-if you have any materials I am able to buy please let me know---or if you know of somewhere I can buy from. This will be my first year homeschooling so I haven't experienced the sentimental things yet nor have anything to sell. I hope you decide what to do :) Good luck to you.

I'm like that with our Apologia books.. I'm going to have to get rid of them someday.. I did just sell the astronomy one for the second time after buying it again last year, but I have others along with the high school sets.. We didn't even like them.. LOL! But everytime I try to talk myself into selling them, I just can't.. I know as soon as I get rid of them, I may need them for reference..

I keep books that I know we'll read again, even if they're part of a "package". I have a really hard time parting with reading books....kills my husband...

Textbooks, etc. No trouble at all! LOL :)

Yeah - I had it in my mind to "downsize" and my biggest issue will be books. We have so many - but so many are SO GOOD!!

I love the fact we can walk downstairs and find a new book for them to read - any level. Granted - I have no problem buying more books either :)

I will resell textbooks - like Krista does ;) But I am at the point I am figuring out what works and what I need to do to keep going. I NEED to keep certain books as kids are following others (science is the biggie there)...

I do need to go and weed out books and find out what I have though before I just "happen" to buy more :)

Did you ladies know that there is a forum just for selling on here? It's a restricted access, so you have to be a member for a little bit, and have a couple of posts. It's in the "Other Conversations: Restricted Access page.

I posted some of my items for sale. Check it out if you can LOL
