Nevermind... I need to stop this looking at things! I swear I drive myself insane and the kids get nowhere because we are forever playing curriculum jumper.

Ok, I am going to shoot myself for even thinking about this... but yeah I am.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the old version... is that all in one? Like I don't need 2 seperate books, just the single spiral books I see for sale on like ebay.. and the new version. Is there a big difference in what is taught.. am I much better off to suck it up and buy the newer version? Can I combine my 2nd and 3rd grader (yes I know there are placement tests, I plan to do them today, but buying one level would be easier on my budget than 2... and better for my sanity if I can work with both kids at the same time... for the record Rylee seems a bit slower in most things and Reagan seems to be on about the right level for most things).

Just incase you change your mind. LOL

The old version is spiral bound and just a teachers manual. It is good. But the newer version has a student book that goes with it and there is way more material for the child to complete and it goes better into ALL the subjects: grammar, spelling, reading, penmanship, cursive, etc.....

I'm just trying to talk myself out of it... the thought of $80 or so bucks for 2 levels is way out of my budget, and finding it used doesn't seem like it's an easy or way cheaper task :(

I found the newer edition LLATL for $10 per set which included the teacher manual and student workbook (not written in). If you really want them cheap I would shop craigslist. It seems everywhere else they were always asking more than I could pay. I would sell mine but we are still using them. :)

You also might want to wait until after school starts. I have found that Oct-Nov is when a lot of people are selling curriculum that they bought and it didn't work for their kid so they are selling it cheaper in hopes to get money to buy something else.

We tried LLATL (new edition) the beginning of this year. Maybe I had gotten the wrong level, I don't know, but my dd begged and begged for us to quit it. She absolutely hated it. There, maybe that will make you feel better. :D

I'm over it now....lol. I looked at the samples on CBD and am glad I did. The samples on the publishets site don't express the amount of religious content, the table of contents of the yellow book let me see we would have to skip well over half the book.
