CLE has one, but the catalog says there are listening TAPES. Urg.
They have Rosetta Stone at home, but not homeschool version... comments?
There's Lifepac, there's SOS... ever used those? I'd like something that is either in print or can be printed out for study, and leave a paper trail.

I need suggestions! I don't know more than a half-dozen words of Spanish myself, that I picked up from Dora the Explorer. Help! (And hopefully not too expensive?)

If you weren't concerned about the paper trail, I would say stick with Rosetta Stone if you already have it. You don't have to have the homeschool version.

I would stay away from lifepacs. I have heard they are organized in a weird way and I have never been impressed with lifepacs anyway.

You may want to check out "Learnables". I don't know how good they are, but it isn't too expensive and I think they have workbooks along with the audio.

We did SOS French 1. Rachael says it was OK, but nothing special. I asked how well she learned with it, and she was like...."OK...." But I will say that we transferred her to ECOT at the end of her Junior year. She had finished SOS at that point, but I enrolled her in French 1 at ECOT (cyber school), because she would be taking French 2 the next year, and I wanted to be sure she was at the same spot when it started up. And she had no trouble stepping into ECOT's French 1; it was all stuff she had covered with SOS.

Rosetta Stone, I think, is a waste of money. We tried it, it didn't work. Rachael's friend had lots of Rosetta Stone. When she took college French, she had no idea how to conjugate regular verbs!!! (And she's a very good, focused student!) I lent her a French workbook I got for $1 at a book sale, and that helped her get through.

I am going to use Carson Dellosa. I got the ebook versions of Building Spanish Vocabulary and Spanish Middle/High School from Currclick.($5.99 each) I also plan to use free online resources. http://www.onlinefreespanish.com/

    http://www.123teachme.com/
http://wrhs.schoolwires.net/cms/lib...rno_de_Vocabulario_y_Gramatica_-_Advanced.pdf (this is a workbook with answer key...free!)
http://www.conejo.k12.ca.us/whs/Departments/WorldLanguages/Rollins.aspx (this has the Holt textbook in pdf form that goes with the workbook in the previous link. Look on the left for the link. Right click on the textbook link and then save as, because it takes along time to download if you just open it and save it.)

    Da nada.

btw that free holt workbook has two versions in the pdf. One says advanced and the other for slower paced learners. It's the same workbook and the same answer key works for both of them. The only difference I can see is that the one that says it is for slower paced learners gives an example answer on the first question of the worksheet.
