When Garrett was home, as about a 3rd grader, we partcipated in a post card exchange here on the board.

I would like to do a new one with the younger kids. I would love for them to collect a card from each of the 50 states.

If you are willing to partcipate, maybe we can post what state we are in, and anyone needing a card from that state can PM the person with their address. The person getting the address would then send their address to the requester and those 2 would swap post cards.

I am going to Gettysburg on Thursday, so I will be able to get some great postcards while there.

We are in Pennsylvania. Who needs a card from here?

I was just thinking of asking for a postcard exchange. We are in CA.

We did this with my older two when they were young. We got a US map and as the postcards came in, we'd put a star sticker on the state and arrange the postcards around the map. It was fun!

I'm thinking of getting a project display board and putting the map on that. That way we can close it and put it away.. we school all over the house. Before we had a blank map on the wall (it's dry erase) and we colored in the states we got cards from.

I will PM you both my address :)

I would LOVE to do this!! We have been collecting post cards for about 5 years now and have, I think, 43 states and 3 countries.. My brother is a truck driver so he picks them up when he sees them. I need to look and see what we are missing..

BTW I am from Texas BUT I have LOTS of extra post cards from when we went to NM if anyone is interested in any of those.. Just PM me..

I don't want to be in an exchange, but I can send him one from Ohio. I looked, and have two on hand. One has the eight Ohio presidents, and one has the state tree, state flower, etc. Or if he likes football, I can find an Ohio State Buckeyes one if you'd like.

AND you'll never guess what else!!! I thought they were in the bottom of this drawer, so I looked there. AND I FOUND AN ENVELOPE WITH $50 IN IT!!! It's labeled "Camp Money", and has to be at least one, if not two, years old. THAT was an unexpected blessing!!!

Bumping this up, we still need lots of states to partcipate!

Sadly, I did not find great post cards in Gettysburg. There were 2 different books of them available in the visitor center gift shop, but neither were what I thought a swap like this needed. We didn't make it into town to hit all the little shops till most were closed... then we decided to go on a ghost walk instead of shopping before they were all closed.

I will check a little restraunt near me that is beside the interstate, they have a giftshop that I'm hoping will give me something to choose from. I'll get out there today.

I usually pick mine up whenever I go to the airport (which really isn't very often!). I just get about five or six and keep them in a drawer until someone on here asks.

airport? Well I'm not driving 4 or 5 hours for them...lol Well I know a place I can get them if nowhere closer has them, but it's still about 45minutes to an hour each way. They seem to be a thing of the past.

Lol, I don't live THAT far away, but every now and then we need to drop off/pick up someone, so I get them then. I wouldn't make a special trip for them!
