My kids have a friend that ANNOYS the CRUD out of me! We've known him since he was about 6 and Oh MAN does he get under your skin.. Reminds me of Eddie Haskel on Leave it To Beaver.. Arrogant and just completely out spoken.. Whatever comes into his mind he says.. He tries to be nice, but it just doesn't work.. He always picks at me and the kids over homeschooling.. This kid is 14 and knows it all.. Depending on my mood, I usually laugh him off but WOW some days it's like putting hot pokers in my eyes to deal with him.. He was just standing behind me reading my post about my daughter and periods.. GRRRRRRRRR I swear some day.. POW!! RIGHT IN THE KISSER! UGH!

And the funny part is, kids this age don't have a clue who Eddie Haskell is...

I would not be able to put up with him at all. I grew up watching Leave it to Beaver! Oh and anyone standing behind me when I am on my computer is in violation of one of my few rules and will be in big trouble. I really do not like that one bit! If I want to share what I have on the screen, I will call you.

We have that rule in our house too, otherwise all my kids would hover behind me every. time. My oldest is the worst about it.

    Amen.

I don't know what I would do with a friend like that. I might turn out to be a mean momma and not allow annoying friends over very often.

My sons do actually know who Eddie Haskel is. Hehe. We regularly watch Leave it to Beaver, Father Knows Best, Dennis the Menace, Hazel, and the Brady Bunch on antenna tv and metv. :D

I LOVE Antenna TV and MeTV! When I go to my daughter's, those two are on her tv, and it all comes in perfectly, because she lives in a major town and gets like 15 channels just over the air. When we were at the apartment while our house was getting put back together, those two would come in sometimes, mostly really late at night or with certain weather conditions, because we live in sort of a fringe area. Once we moved back to our house a block away from the apartment, we couldn't get ANYthing! No signal at all over the air. :(

We have that same rule.. I didn't know he was behind me until I noticed my kids all looking.. Then I turn around and he's bends down acting like he was over there to get the dog.. GRrrrrr. It REALLY made me mad because I was typing something very personal about my daughter and she would DIE if he knew about it.. Guess I should have kept it to myself, but... He's not going to be coming around much because I just can't handle him.. I've never had to deal with such a kid before.. His dad keeps tight reigns on him so it surprises me that he acts the way he does. His dad would spank his 14 year old butt if we were to tell him how he acts over here.. I'm VERY tempted to do just that!

You just need to put these types in their place. Purposely make them feel ignorant about things. Find something you know your kid excels at and see if this kid can keep up with them. I've done it with one of my ignorant friends. It works. She no longer argues with me. She thinks public schools are the greatest! Chances are, Eddies parents are the ones who are putting your choice down and he's very malleable at 14.
