Wow!! I was SOOO looking forward to summer break.. Thinking it would be a time to relax and rejuvenate. NOT!! Instead, I'm going to be running kids around like CRAZY all summer.. Summer school for Ds16, Football conditioning for Ds15, and VBS for the girls.. Thank goodness summer school only lasts for 3 weeks.. Football training and conditioning starts monday and goes through july.. Then 2 a days start August 5th. Starting Monday, He has to be there at 8 am and I pick him up at 10.. Drop other son off at 12:30 to summer school and pick him up at 4pm.. Then at 6:00pm I drop the girls off at VBS until 8:30.. The girls like to go to all the VBS throughout our small town, so this will be going on through July probably.. THEN, I'm trying to get some projects done around the house.. I will be laying tile in the bathroom soon along with redo'ing the entire kitchen.. And LOTS of painting. Being on a budget of almost zero doesn't allow for me to hire out or even to buy new.. (yes, the tiles are even used.. lol) I have to make do with what I have.. Revamp and repurpose is the name of the game here at the Davis house.. :)

So what do YOU have going on this summer??

I always want summer to be relaxing and we always have a ton of stuff going on. I really hope we get to the house projects this year, our deck really needs some help!

As for dd she is doing 2 different VBS programs (a day one in mid July and an evening one the last week of July/first week of Aug), a week long soccer camp, possibly and astronomy camp and swimming (possibly, not sure on that yet). There will also be a bunch of day activities scattered about with our tween group at co-op. During all that I need to get the house reorganized and cleaned! I also need to plan out next year's school work and get that all settled before August (I like to start mid Aug).

I wish we were going on a vacation this year but our one cat has been in stage 3 kidney failure for a year which means we have to feed her wet food 3x a day plus change the litter box at least every other day. The cat is 18 years old now but you would never know it. Since we have to take care of her, no travel right now for us.

We have pretty calm relaxing summers here, but we start our school year the second week in July. We are half done with our break.

Of course Garrett is home making everyone cranky, and we have to take a pause in July for Reagan to go to Cub Scout camp. Rylee is only going to evening camp again this year (it's close... our "local" girl scout camp is an hour away... too far to drive her back and forth and she isn't ready for sleep away camp yet I don't think... she can't wash her hair on her own yet and things like that). Garrett goes to Boy Scout camp sometime in July or August.... I'm already looking forward to that break <sigh>

We already started school for the year. I manage to find time to relax at one point or another. If I REALLY need to time off, I take it.

I had school goals, but we've not even cracked a book open!

The younger two were at camp for a week, but are home this week. Next week is the Fourth. The week after is Vacation Bible School Prep Week. And this is SERIOUS prep! They totally redo the church according to the theme! For example, they will construct wooden walls for the halls, painted to the theme of the week. Last year, Rachael was working anywhere from 6 to 10 hours each day, and the younger ones are there helping when they can.

The week after is Bible School, then we'll be "off" one week. Then the whole family will be at AWANA camp. The day we get home, my two uncles (brothers) are having their joint 50th Anniversary celebration. The weekend after is my dss's wedding. (At least I don't have to worry about a present...I finished the quilt for them several months ago in anticipation of the event!) By then, Rachael will be heading back to college. And I've not even begun to get my paperwork together for next year!

Besides kids doing school work, I have several projects I need to get done. I have to finishing painting my house and putting up board and battan, I have a bench for my entryway that I have half built that I need to finish, and I need to clean out my guest room for when my parents come to stay with us in 3 weeks. I was also hoping to get my backyard ready for sod....that is NOT going to happen this year though. I have a list of fiend trips I am supposed to take my kids on too. I am thinking we are going to have to shorten the list though. I don't think I can fit 1 field trip a week into our schedule. :)

Scratch my to do list.. Those things can wait :) The kids are still working on their math books through the summer.. So quick to do the math that it's not bothersome. Besides that "have to", I've decided that we need to HAVE FUN totally away from the house.. Planning on taking the kiddos and the boys girl friends to the water park in Lubbock.. Will be later on in July.. 4th of July is coming up and the carnival rolls into our sleepy little town. So that's "all the buzz" right now.. LOL.. It's already set up in our park. So a night at the carnival eating cotton candy and funnel cakes is in our very near future.. We have a museum hopping day coming up soon.. Lubbock is FULL of awesome museums. The 2 hour drive there is totally worth it. Beside, they have Hobby Lobby there! Can't wait..

Pretty relaxing here this summer since son got a job.
I have been working on the yard while it is cool, then as the day gets hotter I work in the house cleaning, etc :)
