So currclick is doing a never before done event through this weekend. It's a pay what you want event for thousands of items! This bothers me, there are a few things on there I really would love to have, they normally are out of my budget... and I feel guilty paying what I can afford to pay for them. What do you all think of this? LINK
They aren't even trying to guilt people into paying close to the asking price, because the asking price isn't listed. I think this is a sincere offer meant to get people to open their wallets, because $1 is more than $0. Now, I'm going to be on here all day perusing their site for cool stuff! Happy shopping.
That's a pretty good sale going on. I only ever bought something once from them....The Sentence Family. I know you can get Math Mammoth bound workbooks from them. Well, at least you could at one time. I searched for both of those things and nothing came up. I wonder if you could pay a penny for something?
I'm going to go ahead and order a few things, at a price I can afford. Alice is right, them getting a buck or two from me for something I really have wanted to use for a while is better than them getting nothing from me because I couldn't afford to even look at it, if that makes sense.
Honestly I look at this from two different perspectives. First, as a HS mom trying to keep within a budget, I see where your going with feeling guilty for paying less than you honestly feel it is worth. OTOH it looks like more of a clearance event. I flipped through a couple of screens unrelated to the event and some of the same products show up on sale for huge discounts. I saw one marked reg. price about $20 discounted to $3.50. Can you do something to help advertise their other products to offset the discount your getting? (Honestly, you already have by posting here.) Maybe a review of a couple of the products on your blog, after you use them, giving credit to the site and possibly a link? Would you feel guilty if you got a great deal if they named the price? Second, I look at it as a small business owner. I pitched this same type of sale to DH. I see it this way, advertising is very expensive. A sale like this is likely to create lots of word of mouth advertising. New loyal customers are the name of the game. They have the chance to wow new customers and hopefully keep them as loyal customers in the future. I'm sure they have taken into consideration the cost of gaining new customers vs. the losses they will take on the products they are selling at the name your own price. They will also probably get people paying more than they would have asked for "on clearance." So I guess the bottom line is, I would pay what I could, as long as it is somewhat reasonable, and not feel guilty about it. Debbie PS- while I typed my reply you have already sent at least 3 people to their site! See, it's working.
I just logged in and noticed I have a $15 credit!!! I haven't bought anything from CurrClick in over a year! Wooohoooo!!
I have an affiliate account. It was attached to my blog (which is still there, but I never update!!). I guess there were some purchases through my link. I really don't think I've even looked at the site in a long time. I have SO much stuff downloaded that I never even look through!
