I REALLY need to get our books for school ordered SOON so we can get going on them.. I'm NOT ready to get back into the books so it's messing with my motivation for ordering curriculum.... ((((sigh))) I'm excited to start, but then I think about what's going on with my son and I know it's going to be a hurdle.. I REALLY need to get my mindset where it needs to be and get going on this.. I'm super excited about the writing program I'm going to purchase and still looking for a good history curriculum.. Am I the only one still dragging my feet????
Well obviously I'm still doing some shopping, but most of it is done.. because I did it on my shelves I really hate shopping for new curricula, my stomach is always a ball of knots as I hit buy because even though it looks great and I am excited, chances are it's going to loose it's magical charm once it's in my hands.
Not done here either. I'm going to be buying some as I go this year. I am pulling enough together to get started the first of September.
Math and writing/language arts are really my only concerns right now.. I have enough on my bookshelves to get us going on most anything else.. Just need to have some direction on exactly where to start with history.. And I'm ALMOST to the point that I could CARE LESS what public school is doing, I'm going to do WHAT I WANT Cover the topics that I find important.. If I leave something out then I do... I'm DONE with stressing over this.. It takes the fun and spontinaety out of schooling..
I leave for camp in the morning! When I get home, my first order of business I to get my paperwork figured out and turned in. And yes, I still need a particular book!
Mine is ordered. Motivation is going be a problem this year. My husband had a stroke and seizure on July 22 and was air lifted to our hospital. He is home now, but is out of work and no driving for 6 months. This year will be tough. On the bright side, he loves history, so he can teach it when he feels like it.
Oh my goodness Trish, I'm so sorry to hear about your hubby! I hope he recovers completely! Motivation is an issue for me this year as well. I am just in a blah kind of mood about it.
Oh Trish I am sorry to hear that. It sounds like they expect a good recover though. I still have one thing left to order and I need to do it today! I want to start in about 3 weeks so I really need to get moving. I also need to pick up full sheet labels to print off my timeline figures and then card stock to print off my time line and maps. Ugh..I just am not motivated. Maybe now that my house is a little cleaner (I am having a Tastefully Simple party today, amazing how that forces you to clean) I can concentrate on lesson planning and organizing.
Trish, I am so sorry to hear that about your husband! Sounds like it's going to be okay, though? Every year I feel like I am less prepared for school than any other year! This is no exception. And now I'm up in the air about whether my niece will be with us or not, because they have to go back to AR to settle some issues about the house there... I think I'll have to be ordering as we go this year, too.
Oh Trish, I hope all is well now.. We are dealing with my son's health issues this year AGAIN along with hubby's so I know the challenges.. It's not easy to juggle both.. Hang in there!!
