Does this seem like enough, too much or just right for a 4th grader?

Comprehensive Curriculum of Basic Skills grade 4 (its the big thick workbook from American Education Publishing) it includes Math, Reading, Reading Comprehension, English and Writing.

He would work through that big workbook throughout the year.
But he will also be doing these....

    1st semester

    Literature- Together We Go

    Cursive Writing Workbook

Social Studies- Quick Reads Workbook Series Level D

Math- Kumon Workbook Multiplication grade 4

History- Ancient Civilizations Series Medieval Times work book and Rome work book

    2nd semester
continue with the comprehensive curriculum workbook and...

    Literature-HBJ Treasury of Literature

Social Studies- Comprehensive Workbook of the Presidents of the United States with pull out map poster and stickers

Also United States Maps to Color and Learn (It has a coloring page for each state as well as word finds, cross word puzzles, fill in the blanks puzzles etc.)

Math- Kumon Workbook Division grade 4

    More Cursive Writing Practice Workbook

Of course we read chapter books and books about animals and nature etc. throughout the year.

I also am planning on a few field trips this year...

    The Zoo

    The East Texas Forestry Museum

A Camping/Fishing Trip to our nearest Texas State Park

The Marine Aquarium of Houston Texas

    Museum of Natural Science

    Museum of Science and Industy

I will of course either find online or make up my own worksheets to go along with the field trips.

I'm just wondering if this sounds like enough or too much?

I don't want to be too easy on him because he is very smart and eager to learn more but I don't want to give him too much and over whelm him so that he doesn't want to cooperate.

    Looks good to me. :)

What is your science? The reading and the trips? They are great, just wanted to be sure I was understanding. We don't have those kinds of things here :(

We use lots of videos for science... Bill Nye, Magic School Bus, Beakmans World (on netflix) and even old Mr Wizard.

oops I left that out. I also have a spectrum science work book for him. We also watch things on national geographic kids. I print worksheets off the internet for science and we have a few books with science experiments. We will be growing an herb garden this year also and keeping a journal for that.

and yes we do a lot of reading about animals, plants etc.
Last year we read stuff about magnets and did different experiments with magnets.
We also studied about how we can get power from the sun, the wind and the water.
Then we studied about some of the different systems in the human body. I want to get more into biology with him next year.

we also have a whole series of dvd's that I got from national geographic kids website called really wild animals. They have stuff about different animals and their habitats, where those animals live in the world etc. They include a quiz at the end of the dvd too.

They are really cool and even I have learned a few things from them lol
