I'm looking to buy a bunch of plastic animals for my geography lessons. I've seen the Safari Toobs, but they seem so pricy. I know I can get cheaper animals than that. (I hope!) Any suggestions on where to look? They don't have to be the highest quality.
The only place I have found plastic animals is at Target and Toy R Us. They are not cheap. The tubes are cheaper in the long run. Target's and Toys R Us animals are a good quality, same as the tubes. I haven't noticed any animals elsewhere.
At WalMart there's an aisle of el-cheapo toys near the bargain aisles, with collections of plastic animals in a mesh bag for like $1-2. I've seen farm animals and wild animals, but I couldn't tell you what kind of assortment you might find. Also usually dinosaurs, creepy bugs (spiders, flies, etc.). Check Dollar Tree, too, and also Dollar General, Family Dollar, and whatever other kinds of dollar stores you might have around. Have you looked at Rainbow Resource Center? http://www.rainbowresource.com/prodlist.php?subject=19&category=6193 There are toobs, megatoobs, bags, collections, etc.
Have you tried Dollar Tree? That's hit and miss, I know, but it might be worth a try.... Also, what about Yankee Trader?
I was thinking about Michael's, too. They have the Toobs of animals and you can use the 40% off coupon to get the price more reasonable.
thanks for the tips, ladies. I'll try Michaels since I have seen them there and I can use the coupon. Plus, I'll check the dollar tree.
