There is just WAY too much to update at this point, as I haven't had time to keep up with the boards lately (and by lately, I mean for like the last year). So I'll sum up. We've been trying to get transferred back to Springfield, MO for the last 3 months. The reason for the transfer has zero to do with geographic location and 100% to do with the fact that our district manager is always finding new and increasingly more miserable ways to ruin our lives. The man truly detests DH. The company finally told us yesterday that we were guaranteed a store within a 20 mile radius of Springfield, starting January 15th. They can't tell us more than that because they haven't notified the current manager of the store and their afraid he'll quit (I'm assuming they're about to fire him). We have NO idea when we'll have specifics. I mean, that's a lot of miles and if we choose a house in the wrong area, we could be as far as an hour away from our store. Anyhow, too many details. Sorry. All that to say, neither of us are super giddy about the situation, even though we'd like to move. We both just want away from the DM. We're both content with our current city, but can't handle much more of this guy. I've been feeling like DH is supposed to find a position with a different company. But he is far too worn out (from working, on average, 2 shifts a day) to invest in a serious job search. Today, a guy that DH knows through Scouts, asked if DH would consider switching to his company. I was standing right there at it was really a random question. DH never mentioned his discontent with the current situation. This guy just sort of asked out of the blue. I'll go into a lot more of the real spiritual impact of this later, because it's amazing. But... So the other guy is going to contact HR on Monday to see what they can do for DH. Please be in prayer that we would go the way God is leading (read: that we know what choice we're supposed to make) and that our family dynamic improves as a result.
Just prayed on this. We've been going through a lot of job'work angst over my DH's work the past year - I know first hand what a blessing an opportunity like this can be.
I will pray for your situation. BUT if you move to the Springfield area we could meet. My family and I are in a city right beside Springfield and there is SO MUCH to do homeschool wise here.
DH is supposed to follow up with the contact sometime today. Hopefully, he'll have something-or-other to point us in a direction.
