I have green beans coming out of my ears. Do any of you have green bean recipes that do not contain bacon? I am looking at soups, but there aren't many that I can find online. I froze a lot, but would like to use the rest fresh, or at least freeze some soups, or prepared dishes. Thanks!!! :D

Bean and vegetable fillings for wraps made from tortillas make a good alternative meal.

    We LOVE garlic beans here.

Blanch the beans. Then saute in LOTS of butter and garlic and a little salt.

Green bean casserole? You can omit the bacon.

Can you use ham, or do you not do pork at all? We love beans red potatoes, and ham boiled together! If you don't do pork, you might get some turkey ham.

My husband loves fried green beans. He dips the beans in a batter and fries them in peanut oil. Not sure how the batter is made but i think it has beer in it.

beef vegetable soup-usually has lots of green beans.

green beans almondine-almonds, no bacon, and garlic!

shepherd's pie. We always use a lot of green beans in shepherd's pie.

I also do a skillet meal-green beans, usually corn, beef bullion, and ground meat (turkey, beef, what ever you have).

    Thanks for the great ideas!

Jackie, I eat ham, or pork. I just try to avoid bacon at times because it is so fatty. But I LOVE bacon! :D We go way back. :D

I melt butter in a pan and then coat the green beans in it. Add some garlic salt, and coat with parmesan cheese. Let cook until they start to brown... yum! The secret is a lot of butter.
