Meg I know it's very very local what Goodwill stocks. But, I will say I NEVER used to buy jeans at Goodwill, cause of my size....if they had anything it was old walmart tore up things. So I would splurge at like Lane Bryant. (although I have never paid more then 20 there for Jeans cause I try to get the ones they put on the big big discount to bring in the new seasons stuff. BUT, this weekend for the first time I hit a Goodwill that was the jack pot of plus size pants. ALL of them were half price too. So for 2 dollars each, I got a dress Talbots pair of pants (we all know how expensive they are and to be in plus size too! Unheard of!). A CJ Banks one. And 3 Eddie Bower ones!

Also I don't know if you have Catherines, but they some times have 99 cent sales. Last year I got Sweaters and all kinds of things for only 99 cents. Then I had a discount card that got me a extra 15 percent off, so no tax on that either! And a little bit less even. I think it came out to a total with tax and all to be like 90 cents a piece!

oh and for plus size CJ banks also has some pretty good sales in their store. Sometimes 99 cents too. But, often under 5 dollars a piece per garment. I have many times bought skirts, and sweaters, and shirts for under 5 dollars a piece. Often around 2 or 3 dollars each. 1 dollar for things like belts and purses.

We have a tight budget so there isn't much splurging here. But when we have an extra paycheck in the month I buy pantry items. I am not a hoarder, but I do keep an extensive pantry with every day foods and emergency supplies. My family could eat even if I didn't/couldn't go to the grocery store for well over a year.

99% of our clothing comes from the thrift store. But I will spend money to buy everyone good shoes.

I have noticed that the thrift shops that raise money for hospice often have nice clothing. It seems that many families donate their deceased's belongings to these shops.

Good shoes. Not a lot and not anything fancy. My feet hurt if I don't wear good shoes so I watch for specials on Easy Spirit shoes. Still a splurge on sale! My biggest splurge is feeding my addiction to shopping at Goodwill. I love going there!

I was raised by aid workers and so have never really spent on anything more than what was necessary. I mean, we would wear hand-me-downs till they were torn and then repurpose them for something else. However, I love to read and so recently gifted myself a kindle. No regrets so far! :)

I love reading so I may just convince myself it's okay to buy a Kindle. Doesn't beat a good old fashioned book but it's easier to travel with a kindle.
