Who else is having a wonderful first day back?????? I don't think we will ever take another week off. We have been working on math for an hour and 45 minutes now and neither of them are halfway done! Rylee is just being herself and poking along, and Reagan is really being himself and stressing out and having meltdowns over it all (common for him, but if we do it regularly then he doesn't meltdown like this). So much for getting to anything else today.
Sorry We are moving slowly today. It's 10:00 and we have managed to eat breakfast and go outside to blow bubbles. So far attitudes are good, but we will see if that continues when we actually get to our school work.
We are moving slowly too... as in half of my kids are still asleep! I had a lot to do this morning and if kids aren't bugging me I can get it done faster so I was in no hurry to wake anyone up. I think we will start school after lunch today...
We got off to a good start, but Faythe is fighting a cold, so I sent her back to bed. And Rachael's sweetie is here right now; they were able to get the new season of Sherlock on their computer and were watching it. I told them NO WAY unless we could ALL watch it, so that interrupted our day, too!
I find it is always hard to start back after a long break. Maybe do something fun. This crazy weather doesn't help either!
We got a bit of a rough start today, then I loosened up and decided whatever we accomplished was fine since it's the first day back. We've ended up having a largely productive day other than a late start. I substituted the hippity hop for a chair as a treat today -- that's been a big morale booster! : )
We managed to get spelling reading and science done after they finished their math. Rylee and Reagan both blew me away when we were reading the Mr Q Life book. They both read very well and were even egar to read.
Well, we're down one kid, and the other two newbies didn't show up today, don't know if they're coming back or not. It's cold as a wedge here today and we're out of kerosene, so we're at the library today. About to wrap it up and go home.
Ohio State University closed both today, and for tomorrow. THEY NEVER DO THAT!!! Rachael just announced about tomorrow, so Phillip feels WE need to close to. Uh, NO! We're having a normal day tomorrow!
We started back mid-week last week and everyday is getting little better, but it's been a rough start on both of us
LOL...I remember the days when my kids would look for any reason to get a day off! Jackie I hope Faythe feels better soon!!!
Daughter's school is closed here. Just got a call that tomorrow is a no-go, too. Temps are just ghastly, very ugly wind chills, and tons of blowing snow on the roads. I think we got 17 inches in the past two days. My daughter (and her best friend who is also stuck here...lol), are enjoying a couple extra days vacation. They both have a bit of Senior-itis and don't seem to mind too much Hubby made it out this morning, but the neighbors think he might have trouble getting in again due to drifting snow and overwhelmed road crews. He's going to give it a try in about an hour.
My husband says that The Blizzard (of '78, but that's understood when you say it with uppercase letters, lol!) only shut down Ohio State for one day!
Yay! Glad to hear that Mr. Q is a hit so far. There must be something about math today. 3rd grader was in tears over division and 6th grader has taken almost 2 hours to do his TT assignment.
So glad to hear I am not the only one. My son took an hour and half to write 2 sentences!!!! Math wasn't that hot either. I am always glad to get past the first week.
