So I had planned on buying a level of Mr Q on payday since it will be on sale, then I will be good till the next sale since he only does them in Jan. Today I learned I need to order a new pump for my washer on payday instead. Why do we need clean clothes anyway??

I feel you! I'm in a similar situation (only mine is thanks to the crazy weather resulting in a windshield that looks like a spiderweb).

Maybe you could go this route and still have enough left over for Mr Q. ;)

Lol the pump is only $40 but that is about the extent on my "fun money" each payday.

I do want to show that washer to hubby those doomsday prepper shows has him thinking we should start collecting vintage no electric needed household neccessities like a hand crank mixer and meat grinder. He will be all over this washer :)

I was joking, of course, but I'm glad my link might prove useful! I want one like this just for days when the power goes out because of weather or what-have-you. Have your DH read the comments, too. They have a lot of great ideas for improvements. Like adding a drain spout, or attaching it to a stationary bike to make cranking less tiresome.

Somehow, appliances and such around the house have a big conference after we're asleep, and take a vote on which one will go out first and require replacing/repairing. My computer got the vote, and then my house phone, but fortunately, the phone was much easier to repair! (I'm still at the library whenever I get a chance. Don't think I'll be affording a computer in the near future.) It's a conspiracy of the machines against us!

Cool construction of the manual washing machine!

I think you are right Lindina. We had an extra dryer sitting in the garage for months (it came from our house that is for sale). Last week we gave it to a family from church whose dryer had gone out because they couldn't afford another one. So this week my dryer starts making this horrible screeching sound. Parts are on order and I should have a working dryer again this weekend. So thankful that hubby is getting good at repairing things like this.

I ordered my parts for the washer... they should be here on Tuesday. Now, the 3 outlets in my dining room have decided not to work.. the breaker isn't tripped, the light is on, for a few hours the outlets came on, now they are off again. I don't get it.

I ordered Mr Q Earth event though I didn't really have the $$ to spend.

Hmmm....for some reason that last sentence seemed faded out or something weird.

Let's see if I can fix it for you.....

There. All better now. Now everyone can see what you were trying to tell us.

    You're welcome. :D

Your master outlet may be out. Several outlets are connected to a "master" and none will work if it goes out. You will have to turn the breaker off to those outlets, remove the covers and pull them out to see which is the master. Then replace it. (I'm thinking it's blue on the back?) If that's all it is, it's like a $4 fix. Hope it's that simple. That has happened to us a couple of times. In fact, we have a few out in this house, but my aunt is taking care of that.

Thanks Ms. Batman, thanks a lot, I was trying to keep it a secret...lol

The thing with the outlets, we pulled them all out this morning and none look bad, no lose wires, no black wires, no signs of anything bad. We are going to replace them all one at a time this weekend. When we moved in here 4 years ago, we redid all the walls in the dining room, all the outlets are new (or were new then) and the drywall is all new(ish). I'm really hoping we don't have to start ripping out walls so to look for chewed wires (we do get lots of mice since we live in the country) I have been thinking of new paint but dang I don't want to have to do new drywayll, mudding SUCKS!

Sommer, I loved your almost hidden message. And I loved Mrs. Batman's helpfulness at pointing it out in case we missed it even more. You guys are so much fun :)

Sorry to hear about your outlets. We have some in our dinning room that haven't worked since we moved in. We too had a nasty mouse problem and are afraid that it is chewed wires. DH will get to it some day, ha ha ha. Thankful the cats and dogs keep the mice mostly under control now. I don't want to remember what it was like the first month. The house sat empty for 6 months before we bought it.

Haha we have a cat, he prefers to taste of chipmonk. No that (sadly in a funny way) is not a joke! He goes out, catches them, plays with them for hours then leaves their dead bodies all over the yard. Occasionally he is in a sharing mood and will bring live chippies in the house and let them loose. I should mention this cat was a stray we fell in love with... he is gorgous and has a cattitude that just fits us well. My dogs aren't good for kepping them away either.

    I'm here to serve.

And, may I point out...I'm married (to Batman)....so it's Mrs.
(Jeepers, even Ange caught that! )

But, in all seriousnes...I hope you get all-the-little-problems-that-seem-to-pile-up-at-once fixed.

My latest domestic trial was a week or so back, when we had that terrible cold spell. My kitchen sink wouldn't drain; frozen somewhere along the line. For 3 days I had to wash dishes in dishpans in the bathroom tub. Not.fun. Thankfully the 3rd day it thawed (I was afraid it wouldn't drain until the spring).

We had a frozen line that broke the spigot in the kids bathtub during the big freeze last week or whenever that was (I was too cold to take note of the dates...lol)

We are heading out for more new outlets, we are not sure which one is bad or even which breaker they should be on, so our plan is to shut down the main and start changing outlets one at a time. I have one that is bad in the living room too we will swap out while we are at it...that one I know what happened, the Edenpure cord had been pulled and the wired were lose and burned up the plug a bit...yikes...lol

Oh and my washer pump will be here Tuesday, trying to decide if I can wait that long to wash laundry. I think I need to go buy a pair of pants and then I will be ok...hahaha. I have like 2 pair of comfy stretch yoga like things and 1 pair of jeans so I could use them anyway.

Oh and Mzzzzzz sounds way more evil than Mrs

Just found the outlet that is bad! It's in the kitchen on the wall next to the dining room... Garrett plugged in his tablet and it all came back on. We never did go buy a bunch more, hubby says there are a few downstairs yet from our bulk purchase of them when we started remodeling.
