We started our 4th (out of 6) unit today. That means that we are half way done with this school year. So far so good. I am excited about the rest of the year because we are getting to some of my favorite parts of history in our Paths of Exploration studies. This unit is Daniel Boone followed by Lewis and Clark and Trails West. We live in the inter-mountain west. We have Lewis and Clark and Oregon Trail historic places all over (well within what we consider reasonable drives) so this will be so much fun.

How about the rest of you? Are you at the half way point? Already more than half way done? Still have a bit to go to get to half way? Or do you start your year in January and are just starting your new school year? Let us know how things are going.

We are over the halfway point... Only 60 more days to go! However we school year round so in 60 days we will have a small break and start up again.

I'm so jealous!! We started out our year with POS but it wasn't a good fit for my daughter. I REALLY was enjoying it and sad to have to switch. We didn't get out of the Columbus unit.

We are day on 107 (we school year round) out of the required 180 days.

We were half way when we took Christmas break.

I'm totally jealous of the historical things you have. I know we have so much in this part of the country but I want access to it all. Yep I'm greedy lol

I understand! I love the cool stuff around me, but I want to visit stuff back east, too. We just finished reading about Jamestown and I would love to be able to take the boys there. No, really I want to go there, and the boys could come along, too ;)

I so wish it had worked for you guys. We are having so much fun with it. I hate to tell you, but Columbus was the least interesting unit so far.

We are just over half way. So far things are going amazingly well.

We are doing the first year of Sonlight's American History and loving it. This past fall we were able to go to a colonial living event that was perfect for our studies. This spring we will be able to go to another similar event except this one is bigger and includes a reenactment of a Revolutionary War battle. There is also another living history opportunity that includes historic homes and a church. We have a lot of history around here. :)

We are also planning a trip to a local science museum and a trip to the zoo. I love field trips and hands on learning. I'm really excited about how this year is going and the fun we have planned for the next few months.

It depends. We're 3 days from half-way calendar-wise, but since each kid works independently, they may be at different spots in each course.

DGS finished the second half of 2nd gr reading and has well started on the 3rd gr. He finished the second half of 2nd grade LA and we're almost done with the first unit of 3rd grade. He finished one of the two 3rd gr social studies (R&S) and we're well started in the first unit of the other (CLE). I had thought we might get done with 3rd grade science and start on the 4th grade one, but we're only in unit 5 of 7 in the 3rd grade one, so I may abandon that plan, or just make a beginning with 4th and finish it next year. Math is right where we ought to be, and Bible we're sort of stretching it out to last the rest of the year since there are only 5 units total.

Next week is the half-way mark for us! Moving put us a bit behind, but I'm hoping we can get done before all the summer activities start up!
