    I need some sound advice.....

This is one of those times if you wonder if your going crazy!

My ds is in ps - his special education teacher told me he stands outside the bathroom to listen if my son is going or texting someone.

    Does anyone find that disturbing???

Yes, that's weird. I'd tell the teacher that if he's that concerned about it, he should simply ask for your son's phone before he goes to the bathroom then hand it back when he returns.

It is weird. I agree that he should ask for his phone instead of standing and listening to him.

That does sound strange. Tell the teacher you have thought about it and it makes you uncomfortable. If there is a texting issue, you need to have a talk with your son. I also agree that you could ask the teacher to keep your son's phone while in his classroom.

Totally weird!!! I would tell the teacher to take his phone before your DS goes to the bathroom and give it back afterwards, because that listening stuff makes you super uncomfortable!! Creepster!!

No you're not going crazy, that definitely is very creepy. That would bother me if it happens to my DS.
Just like everyone suggested, the best idea is to talk to the teacher on how you feel about this. And then let them know you'd feel much comfortable if the teacher keeps your son's phone inside the classroom, rather than check if he's texting.
