What is included? I am putting my sets together, from the past three or four years of writing and producing VBS' my editor asked me to packet them together for sale.
I have Skits, suggested snacks, lunches, games, crafts, and memory verse lists and games.... How much would you pay for a packet with all of the above in cluded> Games- I have diagrams, etc step by step, Crafts I tell them what to use and where to find it at the best price,,, and so on.
I am thinking of calling it VBS on a Budget cause that's how we do it.
I put on a relatively good Vacation Bible School/Camp for approximately 500 for food, etc. Now if you use donated stuff you can cut that by over a hundred dollars as well.

That sounds really good, TM. I don't really know how much our church spends on the kits, because you can order how many of what things you want, at different prices. Since we're a Baptist church, using the same kits each year as other churches in our association, they often donate stuff to us when they're done - often the big "constructions" for the theme, since they're bigger than we are, and sometimes leftover kids' materials or other decorations.

My church has used Lifeway for of our materials in the past. You might check out their website and click on the VBS section to get some ideas of what they go for. Good luck!!

We are using a program from Group tis year. I don't know how much it is going to cost once everything is ordered but I will ask my sister and see. She orders everything once all the leaders get a suooly list together. We send our leftovers and unused items to a home missions family who uses them where they are most needed.

The prices really vary. If you look on CBD.com you can see what the big name kits are going for this year.

Thanks everyone! You have all helped a lot, even though you all sent me to places I have checked out before you showed me a few ideas just the same and I appreciate your time.

one more question-- about how many kids do your churches bring in that attend VBS and do you offer it free of charge or pay a small amount. In our area they go from 20-30 dollars that I know of. My church and I are trying to offer it for 5 dollars or less- the cost is only to pay for the t shirts we give each camper as we run a bare minimum budget as a challenge.

The number of children we bring in changes with each year. As to fees, the church pays for everything. As for t-shirts, although we have used them, we usually try to stay away from them and use hats, cheap vests, bandanas, etc... to represent the theme. The workers always have a themed t-shirt.

    Cool.
Our goal is to be 50 kids at least and to be able to give it free of charge but I find that if we charge the 5 dollars th parents are more apt to get them here on time.. maybe its the California mentality? Laid back?
