Do you like them? For what do you use them?

My husband bought me three of them for my Birthday, and I don't want to sound ungrateful, but I think they are horrible, and can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would spend that kind of money on them. They have a stinky chemical smell, they are made in China, and the designs are just plain weird. Plus he got these giant, ugly monograms put on them.... Or maybe I'm missing the genius that everyone else is seeing, and I'm the weirdo.

Now I'm trying to figure out what to use them for so he sees me using them and doesn't feel bad. I've considered using two of them as shopping bags, but they have odd, bulky pockets on the outside. Why would anyone want their stuff in pockets on the OUTSIDE of a bag? Isn't that the point of a bag? To keep stuff contained inside and out of sight?

Does the smell go away?? Right now I can't stand to hold one for longer than a minute before it starts giving me a nauseous headache.

I have one and wish I had never spent the money on it. It is such poor quality! We hardly ever use it. My daughter uses it to tote around toys or books when we go out and about.

I bought a bag that is similar at a local store for $12. I only use it when we go to our annual bible convention so that I can get to things easily. I keep stuff like snacks, band-aids, medicine, pens, etc. in the outside pockets. I would never, ever put my personal stuff like a wallet in an outside pocket.

My sister uses them a lot when she goes to the pool or ball field. She likes the outside pockets for that kind of thing.

    The smell does subside. :)

I just buy the reusable tote bags sold as check out bags at department stores. $1-$3, they're cool...and if you give one away it's no biggie.

They're huge, pretty, and useful for all sorts of stuff.

I was clueless on that kind of bag, had to look it up...... I think if you have young kids, it would be a good bag to have, but I wouldn't need it any more.

THANK YOU!!! I went to a party, and bought a bag for Rachael, and she loves it. I bought me a much-needed wallet, and it was "eh....". But a gal at co-op sells them, and she uses them for EVERYTHING. As others have said, WAY overpriced!!!

Phew, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks they are over-hyped and expensive! I'm so used to getting cloth bags at garage sales for $1 or less, that finding out the price of these things made me almost choke. I don't think I've ever paid more than $5 for a bag or purse....

I have found the smallest one to be a great little shopping bag. I've used it at the health food store a couple times, and it stands up nice for them to put the stuff in.

They exploded around here a few years ago. A lady at my son's Karate Studio sells them. I only like certain ones of them. And I always wait until they're big sales. I have a friend who lets me tag onto her orders and get the discounted item. :)

I have the Large Utility Tote which is the big open rectangle one. I love it for the pool in summer time. I also have a medium utility tote which is just like that but a bit smaller. We use that to cart food to the pool. :) And we have a cooler for the cold stuff. I got all of them for about $12 each.

I do have one of the funky ones with all the pockets on the side and use it for sporting event things. Each pocket holds a bottle of water. :) HA HA HA HA! Again, I got it for about $12 instead of 40 or so.

The lady from the studio also has these flash sales things that are awesome. I get things that she has extras of for maybe 75% off what they would be. I've gotten a few things from that, and thoroughly enjoy those things because they are NOT expensive.

The only one I paid full price for was a cinch sac backpack thingy that I got in my daughter's volleyball team colors and had a volleyball embroidered on it with her team name and her number. She loves it. And I got it for her as a gift for helping me with something, so I didn't mind paying full price for it. She uses it for volleyball all season.

But other than that, yeah, the purses and such, not sure I see the appeal for the expense.

The smell does go away. ;)
