Oh Krista!! I just saw this and I'm praying for you all. That "c" Work is scary. With what hubby is going through, that thought has crossed our mind for some time. Praying these next round of tests put that at ease.. And I pray that your son's situation improves very quickly. So glad to hear that the doctor doesn't think "c" word is the problem. I was cringing as I read through the posts. Relieved with your last words from the doctor.

Update: Celiac and full iron study came back normal!!! She wants me to schedule an appointment for me to get him in and get him looked at....also to log his symptoms, especially when he has the breathing issues. I'm thinking her next test will be allergy testing for him. :D

    PRAISING THE LORD RIGHT NOW!!!!

I just want to add my 2 cents...if the only test that was done was the blood test for celiac it might be wrong. In fact most people who do the blood test for celiac come back negative or normal even when they do in fact have celiac. Also, has the doctor mentions hashimotos? It is rare in kids but a lot of the symptoms your ds has are similar to my cousins and she has celiac and hashimotos. Her Dr. did the regular blood test for celiac and it came back normal but her symptoms didn't improve. Her mom pushed hard to get him to do another test and he didn't want to test her because the other test came back normal. Eventually they did a biopsy test for celiac and it came back positive. She was tested for Hashimotos about 2 years later because her symptoms never fully went away. She tested positive for it. Now that she knows what she has and is taking some meds and flooding her gut with probiotics she is doing really, really well.

I would definitely have your ds tested for anything the Dr. says he needs tested for, but IMHO if it were my kid I would request a biopsy for celiac and then possibly Hashimotos.

Good Luck and keep us informed! I will continue to pray that you and your ds will be able to get this figured out.

Thanks, Minthia....I do intend to bring it up with my doctor about the blood work often being inaccurate and hope that she'd order an endoscopy. Not that I really want my son to go through an endoscopy, BUT, it really is the only conclusive way to know for sure. If she says no, we might invest in the Enterolab test, I forget how much it is, but it's a hair follicle test that is conclusive.

Hashimoto's, I don't think so....some of the other symptoms common with that, he does not have. But I will probably mention it. That one is highly doubtful.

Waiting a week, and then making an appointment. Watching him for breathing episodes (which he has had none since the humidity dropped a week ago).

:) Thanks for praying, folks! Means a lot!
