Since hubby and I have swapped roles we need a different approach to homeschooling. Hubby is completely hands off but my daughter isn't one who learns by reading only. She has to have the lesson explained to her. It works best with video. We are using CTC math for her right now and it seems to be working great. I need a full curriculum that's computer based that is easy to navigate. Something that we don't have to plan out and that will grade and even possibly send us weekly reports . He doesn't feel like planning nor does he know how and I don't have the time. Any suggestions for something that won't cost an arm and a leg? I don't want to have to piece together lessons for each subject either. I really need it to be complete and mostly hands off for us if that's even possible.

We are loving Time4Learning this year. It's $19.95 a month for K-8 and $30 a month for high school. The only thing it doesn't have is spelling but that's easy to add with a workbook or Spelling City (most seem to use this).

    :)

As much as I hate to say it, would Switched On Schoolhouse work? It's WAY to "school at home" for me, but that sounds as if it's what you could use right now.

We used SoS for Consumer Math and it was a pretty good program. You just needed to watch how the numbers were put in. The nice thing too is I could go back and mark things correct even if the program marked it wrong and adjust the grade. You just need to make sure you log in regularly to check the work.

SOSo is great its easy to navigate and as a few people mentioned it is teacher friendly for parents! My ds just finished HIgh School off with SOS, today actually. It is easy to reset dates for when things are due too if you find your dd is working quicker than you thought, or slower than you thought. When I had all three kids at home I used the book form, but the more I schooled it seemed the Higher grades were sos, for both dd and ds2. My older son went to a private school that used Abeka and BJU and he actually does not have as much recall for learning as the other two did.

The only subject we strayed from SOS was Math, we changed to MATH U SEE because it had a video teacher and they could write out the equations. I do not like math with sos as its a lot of detailed typing in a number and well, its not as good learning typing numbers in my house anyway.

Feiraz, learning to use the computer in your education is not the same thing as doing all your lessons on the computer and letting it be the teacher.

I'm thinking that it's not legal to resell SOS. Is that right?

Jackie, I think you get one family trade off, that is what we were told when we checked to get a new registration number, you may have to pay for a new number or disc whatever they use now days.
Ours were old then via our church's purchasing it so I did not load it this year.
