First off let me say Freddy is okay. Yesterday morning Freddy had a heart attack and today had a heart catherization. He had two stints put in. One to fix a 75% blockage and one to fix a 95% blockage. We are so greatful today that our small hospital saw the danger in his bloodwork results even though his EKG did not show much wrong at all. We are greatful he was able to have his heart cath. done early today and he has no pain and has had little pain the whole time. We are thankful for our children and other family for all their help in this scary time and for our pastor who came last night even though we told him it was fine not to come. For all the staff at both hospitals and the ambulance crew who have made every effort to make this whole thing easier on both of us, especially for letting me stay with him in his room in critical care. He really wanted me here with him and I wanted to be where I could see everything that was going on. Yesterday I prayed for healing and all the praise goes to God for this. The doctor says Freddy has more heart issues we will be dealing with, so life is going to be changing for us. There are about three more blockages of different degrees. They could not fix them all today. The doctor says Freddy will be on some new medicine and a special diet and that he will need open heart surgery in the future. Please keep him in your prayers. I realize a lot of you will not know us, but some of the older members might and either way I covet your prayers for my husband of almost 44 years. Thank you! Beth
Beth, you know my prayers are with you and Freddy. I still check in here every morning, so do keep us updated.
Freddy has had a good day. He has to rest a lot, but he is doing great. I am trying not to hover over him, but it makes me anxious to be away from him right now. I just need to see him. Silly I guess, but I think with time I will be okay with it. This was all such a shock and it all happened so fast! I don't think my mind has caught up yet. So thankful he is okay!
Beth, I don't get here much with me working full time now, don't have much time. But, now you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Thank you all. Freddy is still doing well and I finally slept good last night. I would be so sleepy, but as soon as I would go to bed my mind would start racing. It just would not shut down and let me sleep. It was so frustrating! Today we went to Freddy's Daddy's and picked raspberries in the backyard. It was fun being there like that. We got enough off of our few bushes to make 5 pints of jam and lots more berries should be ready later this week. Funny how you cherish doing little things like that together after a scare. Freddy sees the doctor again on Thursday and our youngest, Emily, is having surgery June 17th. It should be her last plastic surgery to correct her birth defect! It only took 17 years to get it all done! Please keep us in your prayers. It is going to be a summer of healing and getting back to normal for this bunch!
