My name is Jayne, and I live in Vermont. I want to homeschool my sophmore son and am interested in finding out about curricula, tips, recommendations, insight. My son is 15 and has Aspergers. He has been an Honors student until high school. He has issues with executive functioning, and this past year was a mess. Some of it was a complete loss, and I can see that he needs remediation in some areas. I will post requests for curriculum reviews/recommendations in the homeschooling thread.

    Thank you!

Hi, Jayne! Welcome to the board. I'm afraid we're not very active right now but I'm hoping it picks up soon.

Reconsider the term "remediation". With homeschooling, we start where they're at and continue until they "get it" or "finish" or whatever. It's not a question of this being "9th grade work", and we need to finish by the end of 9th grade. Especially when you bring a kid home, much of the holes are often not the student's "fault".

    Jackie,

Thank you so much for the direction. I'm a bit of a type-A personality, and that trait shows, I guess.

I will heed your advice :).
