I think Facebook. I check in here every morning, and many days in a row it tells me there are no new threads to read. I think the spammers killed it, and that last troll who insisted that Common Core was not bad....
I still check just about every day. I think Lindina is right. Many have left for a reason. In the past this site really felt like a community. We had all kinds of wonderful discussions about everything. Several years ago a few more outspoken folks joined that could not stand that others had a different view or thought. I think a lot left when a certain few only wanted their own voice heard.
I have loved this board for years and (almost!) everybody on it! Yes, it really has seemed like a real community and it feels sad and lonely when I check in and no one's here. It's going to be up to us to keep it going, revive it!
Hi  I'm still here. I started a FB page for Homeschool Spot and would like to add a blog. The forum software needs to be upgraded too, but that will be a big time/$ investment. Here is the FB page if you want to "like" it. I am working on some graphics for it and will start posting more. https://www.facebook.com/Homeschool-Spot-1419686575018673/
We still have a considerable amount of traffic, but we have a lot of lurkers. We need to draw in more members and that will stimulate discussion. I don't think an FB page alone will do that, but every little bit of exposure helps.
Becky also started a FB page for some of the old-timers. With me, since I'm now down to just one, I don't have the questions, or don't feel I need as much input, or something like that! Miss y'all, but don't even think to stop by!
The FB page is different than the group(s) that were started. It won't replace the forum. It will be for sharing Homeschool resources and ideas.
The Spot has become pretty quiet . My 6 and 8 year olds are in public school this year, so I don't have much to post about for now. We will be homeschooling again next year.
I've not been that active here, but I've been on here for years, and have really valued the input. I used to regularly refer people here. The only reason I haven't lately is just because it's been quieter. I, too, have been even quieter than normal for me here. But, I do check in periodically.
