    Hello! How are you?

I'm new to this forum and the homeschool community. Currently, I'm a teacher at a hybrid (home based school) school in Marietta, Georgia teaching American Sign Language 1 & 2 to home school high school teens. I enjoy my experience; however, it will be ending next year. How do I find another hybrid school to teach at or some type of co-op to teach children of all ages American Sign Language? Since I am new to the homeschool community, I have no idea where to start looking. Any advice and suggestions would be great. Thank you :D

Welcome here! My 2 year old niece is deaf (she has one hearing aid, and now a cochlear implant as well) so we will be trying to learn some sign language in the near future. I would suggest finding homeschool groups in your area. I'm not sure how easy that is. Maybe hang out at libraries during the day? Lol! Find out if there is a homeschool convention in your area.

Welcome! My 7 y/o is HH and wears bilateral hearing aids. We've been taking ASL privately as a family for about a year. ASL is in demand here (central TX), but usually the prohibiting factors are cost and scheduling conflicts. There are SO many homeschooling activities available in this area.

Look around for homeschool "schools" (where kids go part time and do the bulk of the work at home), co-ops, library groups, etc. Also talk to your state's deaf school(s) to see if there are areas that don't have a lot of coverage. Another suggestion is to contact your state's "Hands and Voices" group to see if you can work with them. http://www.gahandsandvoices.org/ We've enjoyed being part of the Texas Guide by Your Side program. It has helped us not to feel so isolated after my son's diagnosis.

Welcome! My kids go to a "hybrid" school. I think they are gaining popularity but may still be hard to find. While we are homeschooling more than we are at school, it presents itself more like a private school, so you may check private schools in the area. I think another term is university model.

Classical Conversations is a homeschool co-op that meets one day a week. Check to see if there is one in your area and if they are interested in an ASL teacher. They might also be able to point you to other opportunities in your area. https://www.classicalconversations.com/find-community

I would check with your local city and county school districts to see what's available in the area. Also talk to the homeschool parents you already know to find out what groups they're involved in. Look on Facebook and Google for local groups, and also check with your library (somewhere most homeschoolers utilize) to see if they know of any local groups.
