Hi, I have a 10 year old who I have homeschooled since pre-k and every year it has been a fight. I am currently awaiting to have him tested for learning disabilities but as of right now he is showing strong signs of having dyslexia. This is what the doctor is seeing so far as am I. With that being said I had a huge breakdown and just cried because I feel like I have failed my son all these years and have pushed him to learn in a way (with workbooks) that he is not compatible with. He absolutely hates learning and even more anything that makes him sit there for longer then 10 minutes. He was a very late talker and that has impacted his reading/writing ect.. which I have learned early on from other moms not to push and to let him lead the way which he did. When I stopped pushing the reading I found that he eventually took a likening to it. However, he still can't stand writing or doing anything that involves writing in a workbook. He does enjoy audio/visual learning but the state of Texas requires me to have written or saved computer work ( I have no idea if there are any online programs that would fit his needs). So I'm here asking for help from someone who has maybe dealt with a child like mine. Thank you for reading.

What about something like this to track his learning: https://www.amazon.com/Yourself-Cur...75993&sr=8-2&keywords=sarah+janisse+minecraft

If he is not into minecraft, there are other journals as well. there is not a ton of writing to do in them, and because he would be studying things he is interested in, he might be ok writing a little longer as well. As for the dyslexia, the lady who makes these journals, Sarah Janisse Brown, has developed Dyslexia Games which is something I am debating trying with my daughter who shows some dyslexic tendencies. You can check it out at dyslexiagames.com.

Maybe you should try another methods of learning? For example, by creating something? Draw a picture, make a sculpture, develop cooking skills.

maybe, the study causes stress? I mean, your son feels a lot of pressure... mmm, I'm not a professional, but maybe you could teach him like a game? I understand, this takes a lot of time, but you have to start somewhere, you know... You can use essay for you online
to complete formalities. Wish you luck!
