I saw a news story about Six Flags yesterday. They are doing a promotion for their Fright Fest. If someone will eat a LIVE Madagascar Hissing Cockroach you can go to the front of the line!! PETA is upset, of course. I can't even imagine. I can't even watch Fear Factor. Why would anyone want to subject theirselves to that!! Anyway, got me to thinking... What is the weirdest thing you've ever eaten? I know some of you have visited or lived in other countries.

I have had turtle, alligator and corsican sheep(it was delish!)

I am too much of a chicken to try anything weird like that. I used to watch Fear Factor, but it got way too "out there" for me! :)

My kids make fun of me because if they say the wrong thing at supper I get sick. Don't dare mention that my food looks like something gross or I am DONE! The strangest thing I ever ate was my sister's cooking! Just kidding. But it was my mother in laws cooking. She made a pie and accidentally put chili powder instead of cinnamon in it. GROSS! Turns out she was in the early stages of dementia. Sadly she didn't know anyone by the time she died. Beth

This isn't really strange I guess just different to me but when I was in Colorad on vacation I had a buffalo burger and was really good. My husband says that Alligator and snake are really good but I have never eaten those. Oh and I had goat meat one time when I was a kid. I thought the meat tasted weired and my parents didn't tell me what it was until after I had eaten. Yuck.

I got tricked into eating rabbit once.... I know its not unusual to some but I didn't like being tricked.

I like eating potato chips with ketchup.

I am all for animal rights, but getting upset over a stupid ugly cockroach? Please! Personally, I'm more sickened at the thought of eating one than killing one. If I saw one I'd proably smoosh it. Gross! I can't even watch Fear Factor without thinking about hurling!

I've tried octopus before. It was pretty disgusting.

Squid and snails. My husband keeps wanting to go squirrel hunting, but fortunately he hasn't got anything yet! I can't quite bring myself to eat squirrel.

My parents were born and raised in the country and they swear that no matter how it is cooked rabbit, squirel, and duck are nasty!! His mother (my grandma) used to cook those things all the time when money was tight and they had to go out and kill there dinner. He said he is glad they never had to eat oppossum. Now can you imagine what that would taste like?!?!

When my now husband and I were dating he would come over to my barracks after he got off work because it was quieter (not just that but they were not allowed female visitors in there barracks). One evening he asked me to make him sandwich. Well, we hadn't been dating long and that rubbed me wrong so I decided to make the sandwich so off the wall he wouldn't ask again. I made it with bologna, cottage cheese, and hot sauce. Well, he asked for a second one and I gave up! The man will eat anything. I guess it's a combo of growing up in the Carribean and doing some special forces training in the military. Then again, that sandwich may sound good to some!!
