Amanda That would be wonderful I would love to try them but I have to see them first before I try them.
The yahoo group is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Lapbooking/ There are a lot of pictures posted for all of us "vissual" people ) I don't have any of Dinah Zikes books. I do have one from Tammy Duby called The Ultimate Lap Book Handbook. www.tobinslab.com There's a website that shows some basic paper folds http://www.makingbooks.com As for our Egypt lapbook...well, it's almost finished! Here's what we included... A book of maps for Africa, Egypt and The Nile A flip book of Egyptian Gods. We put a picture and an explanation of each one A flip book of different crowns A display of amulets (this one is my favorite) We used those little tags that you can buy at office supply stores - they have a string through a hole in the top and come in packages of 50 or more, cheap too! We used 2 for each amulet the first one has the name and a picture "Scarab" The second one has an explanation "giving new life. Symbol of the invisible power of the sun movingthrough the sky." Then we used a brad to hold the two tags together and displayed them in our book. Hieroglyph writing - a chart and my ds name in Hieroglyph A diagram of pyramids and how they were built The mumification process Exodus 7-14 I hope that helps some. I know it sounds confussing, I'm a visual learner also and I generally need pictures ) Please ask questions if you're confussed.
I followed Tina's link and came up with quite a few dead ends. I tried to get to samples and it took awhile because pages were expired or couldn't be found. I tried to get to the preschool lapbooks, but the page that came up said 'does not exist.' I should have remembered which links were dead ends so I could tell you, but I didn't think to. Sorry. I'm not web savvy at all, but it seems to me there should be 'something' in place to do away with expired sites and the links to them.
Becky.. Yes there are a lot of the links that have a few pictures here andthere.. Here is another website that is real informative and has other links. I just get a*little here and little*there. http://www.geocities.com/highland_heritage/shutterbooks.htm Like Shaina said a lot of them are posted on the lapbook yahoo group...... I don't mind posting my space books when we are done  It may be a little while since we are on astronomy now, and the boys are *soaking it up* and want to go a little slower.....If Amanda will do it, I'll post them when we are done... Tina
Tina, your link was fine. I tried to edit my post to say so but I couldn't getthis site to come up!! I absolutely hate that and it's only this site that does it. After following your link I tried to link to other thingsa offered there, and many of the things just weren't there. I did go to the Yahoo, and I got stuck with this stupid Yahoo popup box!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr......!!!!!
Amanda says that she'd post our pictures, so if you have a lapbook out there, please take some pictures and send them to her!
Becky, Same problem here  I feel your pain. Anyways, I'll miss all you ladies and your awsome ideas, tips, cheerful advice. ttfn Tammy
Lap Books I couldn't read all the responses, so hope I am not repeating. They are hoping for orders, at Tobins Lab, to help them recover from the fire. Tammy's Video, if still available, about Lap books is great. Leah
