 The good news is, the way it looks right now my dh will start a new job on Wed. It will be a cut in pay from his job he had before but it is still in his field and the company is a branch of the Caterpillar tractor company so we are hoping there will be chances for advancement. This is a big load off my mind! The bad news is that I found out this evening that Joyce and I have been exposed to the flu!! A friend and I and the kids went out Saturday and her daughter and Joyce both woke up Sun. with sore throats. Her daughters turned into a fever, though. She took her today and she tested positive. Joyce is starting to cough and is running a low-grade fever this evening. I have to watch her because she has a history of asthma. No flare-ups in 6 years but I sure don't want one! What a time of year to be sick! Anyway, thanks to all for all of the prayers that were sent up on our behalf. I'm trying hard not to panic as far as not knowing his pay schedule, but just knowing he will be working is a blessing. Thank you so much again!
Jennifer, I am praying that all works out with your husbands new job. I am also praying for your and your daughter's health. I know what you mean about the asthma. Everytime Ems get the flu, we battle with her asthma as well. It is scary at times. Patty
One time when I took my son to the E.R. the triage nurse was not concerned because "I hear no wheezing". When we finally were seen by a dr we found out that he wasn't wheezing because he wasn't passing any air!
Oh Jennifer, praise the Lord for your husband's new job!!! I'm praying that Joyce will be ok. It's so hard when we see our loved ones sick. Our prayers now are for Joyce. Praying the rest won't get sick too.
Prayers for you Jennifer, and for your husband's job and for health for your famiily! You're right, it's not a good season to get sick, but it seems to happen to a lot of people around this time of year! Hope all is better soon!
How great that your dh has a new job. What a relief for you all. God is good...and He will provide (as He is)! Praying for all of you!
Thanks for all the prayers! Things have been so hectic I've barely been able to skim the postings let alone actually post. Today and tomorrow I have babysitting duty for my friends daughter who has the flu. I suspect that Joyce has the same thing. Her temp was 102 at 4:00 this morning. I had to be up to the neighbors at 6:30 so it was a rough and short night. She has a rough cough but no wheezing. Hopefully the baby won't catch it. Her mom would not appreciate that, especially being pregnant. So far I am fine, just still fighting a headache. Probably stress! My hubby starts his job tomorrow instead of today. Hopefully all goes well. Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers!!
Jennifer, If you have insurance, I'd call the doc, tell him you've been exposed and get some flumadine (SP??). You can also use it if you start it within 48 hrs. of the first symptoms. I had one with the flu (causght early on as we knew he'd been exposed) once and the dr. prescribed it him as well as for the others. It really does work!
Praying for you I undestand Jennifer R. and Pam I have none either. It's hard to find anything under 600 a month for me.
