Hi all! Please share your stocking stuffer ideas for men, women, and children (babies, toddlers, preschoolers, elementary-ers, pre-teens, and teens) here!
Emma and the dogs get a stocking. I usually put undies, socks, candy, lip gloss, or a book and book mark in hers. Growing up my mom put nuts and fruit in our stocking. Handsome(dog) and Tilly get homemade biscuits and a brush or collar. Being a small dog who freezes in winter, Tilly sometimes gets a sweater too.
For kids: candy, spin brush, life saver candy book, bath scrubie, small inexpensive toys (like little cars), stickers, fun pens, small games For teens: (don't have those yet) gift certificate to book store or, fast food place or music store, spare AA batteries if they go through them quickly, candy, suduko or game book For men: beef jerky, spiced nuts, summer sausage, chocolate, Sears(craftsman) gift card, starbucks gift card For women: kitchen gadgets (cookie cutters, whisks, spatulas, sprinkles) ear rings, chocolate, fav. clothing store gift card, beauty salon gift card, small cookbooks,
we put tangerines in the twins' stockings once when they were about 3, ................ they forgot and the stockings got molded.--I get to fill the stocking now, instead of DH.
I put a few small toys in each of my kids stockings. They also get new pencils, markers, paint sets, note pads, crayons and other things like that. The girls get nail polish and barettes or elastics for their hair. My ds usually gets Hot Wheels or something similar. Dh and I do fill each others stockings. Last year I went with a camping theme and filled his with a rain poncho, small weather radio, flashlight, etc. I'm not sure what I'm going to do this year. My dh is really not very good at gifts, but he tries, and that's what matters. Last year he did pretty good. I got a movie, scrapbooking stickers, and a bracelet.
Also I always put in a coloring book and new crayons, this year my mom gave the kids so many coloring books, they don't need any, I would love to get some nice big packs of crayons though, all they have are the 24 packs. I love checking the $1 store for goodies too.
Wendy's or McD's cards/certificates!!! My kids got those in a Christmas Box from the church, and I LOVED them!!! I'm trying to convince the grandpaents that they make GREAT stocking stuffers! The kids are excited to get them, they love redeeming them, and they are VERY practival for those times when we're out and about! Matchbox Cars for Phillip, hair scrunchies/ribbons for my girls. Oh, and DH loves giving the kids PEZ candy.
Chocolate. Always. Every age. For my husband, I always get a can of his favorite shaving cream. Tastykake Coconut Creme Pies. I also put "coupons" for things for him like: Night out with the guys, no guilt or pedicure (he loves those). Kids - SOMETIMES I get happy meals during the year and stick the toys away for stocking stuffers. That's been harder now that they are older. AND we rarely, if ever go to McD's anymore. Dollar store toys, or Walmart inexpensive toys. I like to get small games and puzzles too, Target has a good selection of little things (check by the Christmas candy aisle. OR as you just walk in the door at their dollar deals section).
we always put candies in our stockings as stuffers...mostly chocolate, and we'd put them on the night so that the stockings wont get spoiled (and vice versa)...gift cheques and other certificates we put in the paper envelops...and we wrap up the toys...
speaking of the Target $1 spot, I got Eva a set with plastic rolling pin and spatula (I bet she'll use it with play doh), they have metal brain teazer games and little tic tac toe games, some make up and hello kitty stuff for the kids. And play food, even pretend DQ food.
I know...so cute! I wish they had that when my kids were little enough to enjoy that. They are waaayyy more mature than that, now(according to them!). LOL
Target has a great $1 section. This year Tanner has a few suckers, Larry Boy pen, notebook, tic tac toe game (from Target), a few action figures, a Veggie Tale movie, bath soap flakes, Matchbox cars,.........there are a few other things I can't think of right now. It's all stuffed away in my closet.
Madison usually gets small things, candy, pencils, this year I got her some earrings, Big Boy Gift certificates, pencils. Since she is the only other person in this house I dont have any ideas for men and older kids. I do know that "I"m getting some stamps and ribbon in mine(hehe)
Don't forget for the there are $1 bins at the craft store, note pads, blank cards, bath stuff (salt and gel), stickers, craft projects, paint by #, small posters--come with markers. ---- oh if our bath tub was working the girls would get the little bath soap flakes shaped like candy canes and snowflakes and the snowman shaped bath gel.
We only put candy in the stocking but we do tree presants. For Sami I got, fingernail tattoos (cute little butterflies and hearts, stick on earrings, a roll of bubblegum tape, some dressup jewelry, Stickers, bon-bons (88cent nail polish), Bling-bling (at wal-mart, glitter for her hair). Target also has a $1 section to get little stuff up near the shopping carts.
I am the "stocking stuffer," too, so have I learned to buy fun things for myself as well! You should do the same! You deserve it! You ARE the stocking stuffer, after all, so you should stuff ALL of the stockings - including your own! BTW, my hubby does sometimes remember to buy a few things for my stocking as well. (but I don't always depend on that, since it 'ain't his thang.')
Oh! I just thought of something else...! Sometimes you can find those little wash cloth 'cubes' - you know, the ones that are in a little 'pressed' shape,' then when the child puts it in the bath water it 'grows.' Those would be great fun! Sometimes the dollar store has those.
