Just curious, does anyone know of other animal webcams like Africam? I love that one but I'm curious if anyone has found others like it (besides the grizzly bear one of course!) We like http://www.tigerhomes.org/animal/cams.cfm and the San Diego Panda cam, which we watched all the time when the baby was little. I had a link to a zoo polar bear cam a while back, but lost it somehow and can't remember which zoo it was (Chicago maybe?). It was a good one, if I find it again I will post it or if anyone has it can they pass it along?? If I remember right, the Monterey Bay aquarium has great cams, and so does the Newport, OR aquarium. We used to spend hours watching those ones. I think those are all I have seen, but the Africam beats them all. Michelle
I know there must be other cams, but I don't know the addresses of them or what they are. I saw a polar bear one once, in fact, but I forget where I got the address. Probably on here somewhere.....
I had the same question, and there are alot of them out there. You can try to do a search on web cams, and you should find some. WARNING Do not do this search with your children around because some of the things it will come up with is probably not stuff you want your children to see (oh, what a world we live in!)
I know there is a Shamu cam on the Sea World web site. A lot of zoos have cams for different animals.
These cams are a great idea but I think that my dd and I must have the absolutely worst timing because we've checked out several of these sites numerous times and haven't yet seen any animals (
Deena, I could have but I am not sure. Crystal loves polar bears and we try to find things about them when we have time. She likes this site but we can't make the picture larger.
Bummer!! I turn the safari cam on and leave it on in another window while we do other stuff, then check it periodically. Mostly early mornings and late evenings because of the time difference is best. I notice when the birds start really acting up, usually something is moving in or out and that's how I catch a lot of the critters. Maybe these cams will be better, I just found this link and there are tons of zoo cams. Perhaps captive animals are easier to spot? http://nationalzoo.si.edu/Animals/WebCams/ Michelle
NO KIDDING! Just now, searching for animal cams the filthiest things came up on my search page. I agree about doing these searches when the kids are occupied. (not trying to offend anyone but) As a Christian, I can honestly say without reservation that I hope our Lord returns SOON!! Michelle
