Deena http://www.handsofachild.com gives away a free lapbook. It changes every once in a while. If you go to that site it's labeled "freebie" on the left column.
Brenda, THANKYOU SO MUCH! That looks like a neat site! I am doing the freebie one they have up right now. It's my dd's level, and she can do that as an extra thing for science. She loves science anyway, I think she'll enjoy this! That way I can have a project that's all laid out and actually complete this and make a lapbook!!! Gotta do it so I can get around to doing it again....kwim? The more you do it the easier it gets, but doing it that first time is harder to get around to!!! Now, I just need to make sure that we follow through on this one and FINISH IT!!! Thanks again Brenda!
LOL NP We do a lot of lapbooks from that site and they're all wonderful. Some of them actually give you like 5 pages of info to help you teach from. I don't mind buying them bc they work great for our science and history/geography studies. I'm glad you like it.
Here is a link: http://scrapbookingtolearn.com I don't know if I pasted that correctly but if you type in "lapbooks" under search you can find several posts on this subject. Another is http://scrapbookingtolearn.com/index.html. In reference to the search, TinaTx has a real good thread under that subject with suggestions as to how to tie on in with a subject or study.
Basically a lapbook is made out of a file folder that is re-folded in order to make it look like shutters on a window. Inside here you put smaller books filled with information about whatever topic you're studying. If you go to Google.com and type in lapbook then look at their images you'll find a lot of pics of lapbooks
thanks! I had a look, and think we will use it this year. I want to show it to my dd - I think she will be really into it.
The free email thing can be found here: http://schoolexpress.com/ They have things to buy, but I generally weed through that and just look for the free stuff. They also have an archive of activity pages. Maryelizabeth
