My daughter is 6 and loves to talk about Jesus and make up songs about how much she loves him. Once she Was out on the swing set swinging and looking up to the heavens singing one of her songs. My husband and I just sat there in awe and watched her as the song went on for about 10 minutes. A couple of months ago she came inside after playing and told me that "The Holy One" told her to come inside so she did. She tells me that he talks to her a lot and she likes it when he talks to her. My husband says he worries about her "hearing Voices". But I think it's neat. She's such a blessing. We were watching tv the other day when it was so icy out. The news came on and showed cars sliding all over the black ice. Cailey looked at me and said. "mommy we should pray for those people". She just melts my heart. Angela
My mentally handicapped son has told me twice that we needed to pray for some people. Once it was a bully kid at church and once it was when we had a sudden ice storm and we managed to get safely to our street. We had been praying to make it safely there. Bill told me we needed to keep praying for all the other people in the cars still out there. He is limited but speaks the words of one who knows what matters.
My daughter started talking to God since she was 4. She be in the play room talking and singing away. I asked who she was talking to (asuming some made up name) and she said God. She's going to be 7 in March.
Ds has told me numerous times that he hears God talk to him. I absolutely believe him too. It is a beautiful thing.
I hope they never out grow the ability to talk to God. We have grown people in our church who don't like to pray in public and I respect that but to see a child who can openly pray to the God they love is such a blessing. I got all teary eyed yesterday listening to our children's afterschool group pray the Lord's Prayer together. They sounded like angels.
I was "made glad" when I read your post. My daughter often sings about God and Jesus and prays with no hesitation. But, shivers went up my spine when I read this particular part: Because she listened and came inside, we will thankfully never know what may have happened if she didn't! Perhaps He was protecting her from a bee sting, a fall off her swing, or something much worse. What instantly flashed through my mind when I read your post was that maybe God sent her inside to keep her safe from a predator. That may not even be likely, given the security of your yard, her swingset, etc. With those Dateline "To Catch a Predator" shows, I've come to realize that some people will stop at nothing, regardless of the consequence or the harm inflicted on another innocent human being. I may just be letting my overprotective imagination get away with me, but I'm so glad she simply just "came inside"!! Praise the Lord!!!
I completely agree! I wasn't raised in a Christian home really so seeing the pure, complete, open love my children have for God is something so special. I just cannot describe it.
That is heart warming.:angel: I thank God because He really uses Ems to talk to me. I think it is because children are not lost in the clutter of the day. I believe this is why we need to be still sometimes and listen to what God has to say to us. Faithfully, when we hear a siren she says that we need to pray. When we eat, I usually remember to pray. Sometimes all I see is this yummy food waiting to jump in my mouth. Ems looks at me and asks in a sweet voice, "Mommy, aren't we going to pray." She is a young girl who I believe is gifted in the area of prayer. We all need to pray but some people are in tuned with this special communication with the Lord.:angel: Thanks for sharing. My dd9 has always been that way too. I watch her in awe sometimes! When she was very little she was like the "Pet" of our church. She started talking very young, and would greet people by name when they came into church by the time she was two. We would be sitting in church, and she'd get down and walk over to someone and give them a hug, or just touch their arm and smile at them, then she'd scamper back to us. Later that person would tell us that they really needed that touch and smile! I always prayed that God would just keep using her like that, and that she'd keep being open to Him and what He wanted her to do! Now she still will be sitting with us, and see some child in church fussing. She'll ask if she can go sit by them, and we usually let her. She'll go and start a little conversation with the child, play with little toys or draw or color with them, and the child stays quiet. The parents are always grateful for that! She also seems to be aware of what needs to be done and and takes the responsibility to get it done. While other kids are out playing after church, she'll be helping clean up or get potluck stuff ready or helping someone put stuff away. Of course my boys are special too, but in different ways, so I'll brag about them on some other thread! :lol: She's been a real blessing her whole life! So I understand the feelings that have been shared here! I feel so blessed that God gave my precious dd to me! :love:
Wow!! you moms are doing a great job with your little ones. The Bible says "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" Keep up the good work. Keep these great stories coming, what a blessing
When I told one of my friends about my daughter coming inside when "The Holy One" told her to. Her exact words were you never know what he was protecting her from. My first thoughts when she said that was kidnapper. I truely do believe that there are angels protecting my children and my family. We say a prayer each day before I send them off to ps that God would send down his angels to protect them. I ask God to place the angels in the hallways,on the buses,playgrounds,and classrooms. What an awesome God we serve!! I am so thankful that we are able to freely go to him at anytime over anything. I can't remember if I mentioned this in the main post but Cailey came up with the name "The Holy One" on her own. We are not regular church goers but we are looking. We do practice a Christian lifestyle though. And yes, I too forget to pray over our food so don't feel so bad. I'm working on that. Pray for us to find a church. I know that going to church is not what gets us to heaven but We all still need the support and lessons that we get from one another at church. Thanks for listening guys. Ya'll are awesome!! Angela
