Hey Ohio Gma.....my sisters went to Malone college.....many many years ago!! They are quite a bit older than me and I remember as a child going to visit them there.
SC here but after almost 21 years I still miss upstate NY (but not the snow and cold!). Sloan, what part of NY state?
Jennifer, I don't remember what the name of the town was. I think something like New Burg or New Burn maybe. I was only about a year old or so. I don't remember a thing about it.
I'm in TX as well! Austin for a few months, then on to San Antonio! Wow, there are more TX here than I realized! ;-) Nice to see ya all! And I'm a scrapper too - I see a few others are as well! YAY! Hiya!! ;-)
New South Wale Australia, Gosford, about an hour from Syndey. Jo - where in QLD? I think I would love to RV - I don't think we have anything like that here - closest would be a caravan I think. Dh doesn't like to move though. Oh well....
Beth - with what? Military?? [forgive the ignorance of the newbie LOL] We'll only be in Austin until the store in San Antonio opens - our move will be in June at the soonest (I think) and September at the latest (I think). The dates keep getting changed: first it was the store opens in July. Then it was pushed back to September. Then it was moved back to July because instead of building a new building, the company found an already standing structure and is going to rennovate it. That apparently won't take as long, and it's been approved by corporate, so the current "EDO" is July again. When are you trying to get here/there?
Oh I'm new too, you'd have no way of knowing hubby is in the military. Yep dh is a Marine. We're in Okinawa, Japan right now. Dh is going to be a recruiter, the thing is we won't know for sure where we are moving to until close to the graduation of the school he has to go to beforehand. We are requesting the San Antonio section (which really includes a huge area, Austin, all the surrounding areas, etc). Dh has had people recommend him to the people there and everything now it is just waiting. We'll know at the end of August I believe, where we are going and we'll move the second week of September. I hope you find out when you are moving soon!! It's hard moving without being able to plan!!
Beth, you sound like my sis, Beth A. They are an Air Force family and my bil is "stationed" in upstate NY. My sis has mixed feelings on whether she would like to finish out up there or move back to a base. I think he has 18 years in this year and they have been where they are since 2002. I'm prior Army and when people ask how a girl from Upstate NY ended up married to a man from Belize, I answer with "how else but the military!". We met and married in Denmark when we were stationed in Germany and I got out when my then baby was 1. I had 3 at the time and decided that the military was not working for me as a mom. My dh had gotten out from in Germany. He was infantry and we knew it would be an even rougher road if he stayed in. Btw, my sis was in SanAntonio when my bil first joined the Air Force. We came to SC via Ft. Jackson and the weather here is better than NY!
I wish I had know all of this last year. I have been to most of these states and would love to have met up with any of you. Maybe this year I'll be in someone's area and we could set up meeting.
