It started snowing here about 30 min. ago. It has slowed some, but more is expected through the night. We rarely have more than flurries, so the 1-2 in. they are predicting is a lot for us!
Send us some!! We are expecting sleet and freezing rain starting about daybreak. Many of the schools and business' have posted delayed starts in the morning. My kids have never seen a real snow event.
Pam, it does look pretty when you are in the house and it's outside. Give the kids a day off tomorrow to play in it. Make some snow castles and post them. Then we will have sand and snow castles.
So far none of the state is expected to get snow. The upstate has predictions of ice for the majority of the day tomorrow. At least here it should only be until about lunch time. Two winters ago we had a major ice storm. It was beautiful and scary at the same time. You could hear the trees breaking and they sounded just like shotgun blasts!
Jennifer, I sent Leah some snow and since we have plenty here, I thought I would send you some too. Hope it don't melt before it gets there.
Please send us some snow here in Texas!!!! I would just love to see our weather reporters. You guys have no idea - our reporters here crack me up! The folks here in Houston would have a major meltdown if it snowed and I want to watch it all on the news and LMBBO!!!!!

The problem with snow here is that it warms up to the high 30's or 40's during the day and melts. Then it freezes at night and causes the roads to be covered in ice. This area of the US doesn't have the equipment to deal well with icy conditions, so things just shut down. When snow is predicted, people swarm the grocery stores like they won't be able to get there for a month. Ice is usually what we get. We've had 2 big ice storms that I can remember. Once I was in college. We had a blast! The electricity was out in most of the city for days. Ours was only out for a few hours because we were on the same network as a hospital. People took trays from the cafeteria to sled. Classes were cancelled for a couple of days, so it was a great hang-out time. We also had a group of Brazilians visiting. They had never seen snow/ice and were fasinated. The other time was 2 years ago at Christmas. It wasn't quite as bad. We never lost electricity, but it made for a beautiful white Christmas. Definitely a rarity here!
We've got sludge and freezing rain here. I wish we would get some snow. But the sludge was enough to keep DH home so I'm satisfied.
It is a little bit white outside from earlier this morning and more stuff is supposed to be coming. Babyboy didn't come today because it is snowing at his house about 30 minutes from here. No school for the public schools today. The boys are sleeping late.
The snow was minimal, not enough to play in. There is supposed to be more arriving after lunch (along with sleet/freezing rain). Schools around here are closed, but I'm not sure why. Maybe they expect the weather to get bad during the day. It's a school day for us though!
It DID snow here in TX, near Dallas yesterday! Not much, but at one point, the flakes were as big as chicken feathers!
We ended up with a few flurries mixed in with the sleet and freezing rain. Right now it is just really cold and raining.
nothing down in south Texas. Just rain. To warm suppose to get 70 today. I am not asking for rain or snow no more. Ladies watch what you wish I did and Deena sent us snow, but it came as rain and thats all it's done in texas in Jan. is rain and cold. thank you Deena. LOL
Pam or anyone, bring your family and come on up to Ohio. We still have snow and more expected. We have plenty of sleds, too.
