Today started out as one of those days. Like everything was moving in slow motion. One of my daughters wanted her hair washed and straightened before we visited her Granddaddy in the hospital (knee replacement surgery). My goal had been to be done with school and at the hospital by 1 at the latest, at 2pm we were finally were on our way. As I approached the end of our road, I saw the most frightening scene I had ever seen in my life. There were two cars mangled , One in the ditch and one on the road. I pulled over, my heart began to race. I told my daughters to call 911 as I ran to the cars. I could here a woman asking for help for herself and her daughters. It sent chills up my spine. I thought to myself I have three daughters, What if these were mine? Before I could get to her, I checked on the other lady in the other car because she was the closest to me. I couldn't get a response at all. So, I went to the car with the children. Both cars were smoking very badly and the one on the road was leaking very badly. As I reached the car in the ditch, I could tell the Momma was so relieved to see someone had come. I tried to get her out, but I couldn't. I looked in her back seat; There sat two small girls, scared and hurt. There ages are 3 and 4. The Momma told me that the car was feeling hotter on her. Their was alot of smoke coming up into the car. So, I told her I was going to take the girls and put them in my car away from hers to keep them safe. I began to take the girls with me and couldn't lift both of them. I asked God to help me. God reminded me I had daughters who could help me.So, I asked them to come help me and they did (now that I think of it, it reminds me of how when we need God, He will pick us up and carry us if we can't walk or we stumble). I went back to the Mother and reminded her that I had put the girls in my car and that my girls were taking care of them and they were safe. I can't help, but think that God for whatever reason put me and my girls there at that particular time to help those girls through this terrible ordeal. If I had been just a few minutes early we could have been in that terrible wreck or if I had left earlier that day those girls would have been so scared and alone and seen some really horrible things. But because of God's timing we were there at the very moment God planned it and everything worked out. Please pray for these families. The Kimbro's (Maureen, Mary, and Brianna) and the other lady I don't know her name, but God does. The one I don't know her name was airlifted to a hospital an hour away from us. She is an elderly lady, and they were not sure she would make it. One of the girls (Mary) may have a broken hip, and her mother is still being checked out at the hospital. The mom has a broken leg and wrist and possibly some internal injuries. This made all my problems and pain dissolve and seem so unimportant. I hope this touched you the way it has touched me. It made me realize that no matter what happens in our life God is there guiding us through and carrying us through what we think we can't go through by ourselves.

I finally got to see my Daddy and he is doing great this time:lol: .

    Blessings,
    Melanee

Melanee, you are so right! It was no coincidence that you were there exactly when you were. I'm giving thanks that you and your daughters were able to think so clearly and act so wisely, and I pray that every single person along the way will continue to be blessings to these families.

May you and yours be able to relax and sleep well tonight. May you place these "strangers" who now are so close to you into our Father's hands. He'll take it from here. You did well!

 you have an odd way of describing "worked out" if people being hospitalized, one airlifted, falls under its criteria. Also, you may have been there at the moment God planned it but he also allowed the accident to occur in the first place. >_>

We live in a "fallen" world because of sin and its effects: death, suffering, stickers, pain, "accidents," etc. But God is still interactive with those who choose to allow Him access to their lives. And Melanee, who was submitted to the hand of God, was, unknowingly at first, brought to the scene in time to be His Hand of mercy and love. "Redemption" is always available, even in the midst of sorrow. Jesus is not far from our suffering. John 3:8 (b) says that it was for this reason that Jesus Christ was manifest in the flesh--to undo the works of the devil. And it is our awesome privilege to be His co-workers in this! What a mystery!

God's timing is ALWAYS perfect!! I truely believe that everything happens for a reason. Good or bad. God has a plan for it. Not that he is evil and allows bad things to happen. Sometimes out of the bad comes something really good. And only he knows why these things happen. He gives us free will to do what we wish with our lives and the choices that WE make determine how things turn out. I will pray for the families involved in this accident.

Prairie Home: I don't think we live in a fallen world, there's a lot of bad yes but there's a lot of good too, and so much of it depends on perspective. Also, this kind of thing happens to a lot of people, not just Christians.

mommix3: If God is there, he probably does have everything happen for a reason, not that it's any comfort.

I never got to thank the lady and her teenage daughters when my daughter, Maggie, had a seizure and wrecked her car after school one day. Maggie is a teacher and was leaving school when it happened. She just froze and went into a curve and never turned the steering wheel. She woke up with this kind lady and her girls trying to help her. In all the time since it happened, over three years ago, I have thought about that woman and I am so thankful she was there when I wasn't around to be with my daughter. I know there are relatives and friends of the people in this accident who are just as grateful to you today. I am so glad you were there to help. I will pray for them all and your Dad. Beth

Euphemism....it seems to me that you are in the center of some heavy spritiual warfare. Why does the faith other people have in God surprise you so? You seem to really take interest in spiritual things. If you have discounted the Lord, as you have said, than why is HE on your mind so much?

While in college I took a Buddest Philiosophy class. I did so because it counted as a related, multi-cultural and a philosophy class I needed...not bad huh? I can tell you this...I never have one hooten holler about what Buddha said. I was the one constantly being asked questions about christianity. However, I read my books, studied Zen and Buddha and all that stuff. But it never really interested me. It never got under my skin. Why? Because I had rejected it and that was it! I had made my decision. Maybe, perhaps, you have not. Maybe you are still looking for answers from the Lord.

Regardless, you need to work this out. This distance between you and being offensive is many miles but you are closing in fast.

melanee--Bless you for allowing yourself to be used to comfort and aid those who were hurt. You were God's hands to someone. Praise Him that it was not worse for those poor people.

Glad for your father's healing & your visit.

Melanee, praise God for you!!! You were willing to listen to his direction and obey. God is great!!!
    Amen!

....and Amen to Ava! I agree 100%.

Euphmism, by a fallen world, we do not only speak of sin and goodness. We speak on the terms that bad things can happen even to the good. God did not plan this accident, he did plan for Melanee to be there. He wouldn't force her to help those people, she did it because she loves human life because Christ loved her first. So, there for she obeyed Gods plan instead of sitting in her car or driving off after calling 911.
Christianity is faith. I am sure you already know this. I agree with Ave, so does my husband, you have a deep interest in something you do not believe in. That tells me you believe a lot more then you give credit to, other wise you wouldn't be fighting it so hard. In my opinion, this is a good thing. Every time you ask questions regarding our posts, it gives us an opportunity to share why we believe. God bless you for that.
