We buy Jif, too. Not for any particular reason, it's just what I always have bought.

PKM, hope everyone is feeling better soon!

Sorry that this has happened. How awful! I buy Trader Joes or Smucker's Natural. (I like grainy PB - so do my kids).

    Hope everyone gets well soon.

I called my doctor after I heard about this. You have to watch for diarreah, vomiting, abdominal cramping, bloody, mucusy stool.

I tried calling ConAgra, but got a recording that they were in the middle of an emergency situation and weren't answering calls. My jar of PP is almost half gone, but no one has been sick yet.

I see this as another vote for a cake, pie and cookie diet!! There hasn't been any flack with baked goods... anyone join me??

Count me in. I think I will go get a cup of hot tea (Symfre) and an oatmeal/cranberry cookie or two:)

Since my dd8 is allergic to peanuts, we haven't had pb in the house for a good 3 or 4 years since we found out (and I used to eat a LOT of peanut butter...LOVED it! My very favorite cookies were Nutter Butters to dip in my hot coffee)

I saw the recall and forwarded it to all my close friends and family, thinking they would just be the wiser for it because we've never been affected really by any recalls etc. BUT, my poor cousin, the one who just got back to SC from TN to help w/ her ill/injured grandparents and discovered g-pa has contagious MRSA (see Christian Issues:Bumpy Beginning 2007 thread) has been sick along w/ her 2 young children off and on (she never mentions if her dh ever was sick) and her dh checked today after learning of the recall and they have 2 jars of the recalled pb, BOTH about half-eaten!

Goodness! I'm beginning to wonder what's left that's safe to eat?

Well, Becky, hate to spoil your plans but if I remember correctly they had a problem some time ago with ice cream. I think it was something like they shipped ice cream starter in a truck that carried eggs and someone forgot to wash it afterwards. Maybe it's not cake, cookies or pie, but what's pie without ice cream?

I didn't hear about the ice cream... usually the only issue with ice cream is they leave ingredients off the label. Where I used to work we got 6 free containers of Chunky Monkey because the print shop left some ingredients off the list.

I had just bought 8 jars on BOGO. I will be sending the tops back to ConAgra.

If any of you are sick and think it is due to PB, let your Peds. and DR.s know. The Ped's especially are likely to be collecting data for the CDC.

We had it and my parents too, my parents are going to take it back and get refunded, but I went to go check ours and my husband had ate it already, the whole half jar  . He was sick a few days back so I am not sure if it was related or not.

We have a jar of 2111 Great Value Peanut Butter that my husband has already eaten over half of. It hasn't made him sick, but I think I'll get the refund anyway :)

You know I am surprised that more kids have gotten sick from this, since they are the majority that eats peanut butter in this country. God is looking out for them for sure also it may go to show how adults love the stuff still too! My daughter eats this stuff she dosent like eating the natural one I get for myself and son
