are you planning on sending your kids to school at any point before college? or will you hs them all the way? will your kids have any say in whether they go to school or not? I was thinking that I'd probably hs my kids until jr high, but now I"m not so sure... thanks elissa
I plan on homeschooling. I really think Vicki would be better off at home. She says right now she doesn't want to go to ps.
I'm seeing a lot of families around here sending their kids to school so they can play sports for free, as opposed to a rec. council where they'd have to pay. My thought with that is, why even start h.s.ing??
homeschool I school year to year. By that I mean God only knows what the future for my family or yours is. I have homeschooled 6 years now but I never say they will never go to ps because I don't know the future.
We're just taking it one year at a time. I'd love to say that we will homeschool until college, but I just don't know what will happen from one year to the next.
We plan to homeschool clear through 12th grade. My ds asked me the other day if I would hs him through college! I said, sorry pal, college is out of my league! He's a sweetheart who doesn't want to grow up too fast and leave us. HSLDA has an interesting article about hs'ing through high school: http://www.hslda.org/elink.asp?id=2203 Blessings,
My plans are to homeschool all the way through, unless God makes it clear to us that we are to do otherwise. Now, I don't always tell (non-hs'er) people that when they ask. because it freaks them out. Instead I will say that I'll homeschool "as long as God wants me to" or something like that. If they specifically ask about High School, I'll say that we're not at that stage yet, but that there ARE some good options out there for homeschoolers.
Elissa.. You know funny thing so many of us, including me, worried those first few years of homeschooling if we would DO the high school thing!!! I even sat in college workshops at my first convention and my kids were newborn, 3yo and 5yo    Well now I have certainly become way more laid back about all the possibilities. Several things we have to remember is that when your child reaches that age, they will have tons of input. Their *goals*, *likes vs. dislikes* will help to decide which way God is leading our families. We will have to listen to their *inner conscience* because they will have formed a relationship with God and we will want to listen to His direction in their lives  They will in fact be mini-adults. (WELLL...that is the goal anyway  ) So now I can just say *yes, we plan on homeschooling* ALL THE WAY because whatever * form* it takes, it will be under our supervision . It will also be what is best for them as a whole persons, spiritually and academically. So for now all I say is *BRING IT ON* what we don't know, we'll learn together
We plan to homeschool all the way to 12th grade. I don't want my kids anywhere near the middle school public schools around here. The high school is ok at the moment but with all of the budget cuts I am sure that will be history by the time my kids get there.
