That is an email I got from Homeschool.com. She is homeschooled through a distance learning school. I don't really consider that homeschooling but more like schooling at home. Anyway, after the discussion on a few stars that homeschool or were homeschooled,I thought this was of interest.

Truthfully, a lot of kid actors are homeschooled because they are often onset. Have you ever seen the Zoom that's behind the scenes? They do school while they are taping, they have a tutor, etc. It's really neat.

Also, a lot of atheletes are homeschooled. My eldest sister who is DEADSET against homeschooling realizes that when her daughter gets to higher levels of competition with gymnastics is going to have to be homeschooled and a lot of the girls in her gym that are Level 9 & 10 (pre olympic) ARE homeschooled. It's funny, my neice actually begs for it and is jealous that my kids are homeschooled! And she goes to the most expensive and prestigeous private school in the north east! LOL :D

She is on the show Heroes. She has been in a few movies also.

Yea, I did notice that most kid actors are homeschooled....but for some reason it seems that it is being talked about more. It makes perfect sense for kid actors and athletes. Funny, when your kid is making tons of money or is a talented athlete, those against homeschooling forget all the arguments against it. lol.

I'd never heard of her before either. I looked her up on Google images. Looks like the typical "Hollywood story": Starts out in an innocent commercial for Aunt Jemima, and ends up in sexy underclad pictures. Hope she isn't going the way of Britney Spears!

Deena, you are so funny. The only reason I heard of her was because my dh watched the show Heroes for a few weeks. lol. Oh...and this was sent to me via email. I am by no way someone who knows the stars. In fact, I have turned into my mother...don't know anyone famous! lol. When I was a kid I used to wonder how my mother never heard of some actors and singers. Now, I am the same way. lol.

Will Smith (of Men in Black and The Pursuit of Happyness fame) was on Jay Leno a while back and referenced that he and his wife homeschool their kids - My dh said that stars probably homeschool their kids to keep them away from paparazzi.

My dh got me to watch a few episodes, an I am afraid I am anxious to see what happens when the new ones start again. I thought the whole things looked foolish..but my dh insisted I watch it. lol. Well, I did, and now I must admit to my embarressment I like it. Only embarressed because my dh is always right about stuff like that. lol. I refuse to watch something or taste something...he insists, I say no...then I try it and find he is right...ugh. lol.

Anyway, Timkelmom, the next time it is on, we will be watching together. lol. I am really digging that mean blond chick...I want to be her...kinda..lol...tall, think, beautiful, blond and strong...but I could skip the multiple personality or whatever it is she has.
