Live Cam at Waterhole in S. Africa!

1:33 PM. Zebra, impala and wildebeest this morning.

 

ellies playing in water 2:03 Africa time. I think cam is in an ellie loop now.

 

No ellies, just birds and rain. 6:39pm

 

Wow! I continue to be completely fascinated by this. Never saw any animals yesterday, but so far today have seen a lot of birds, a group of antelope type things, a wildebeast I believe, and 2 elephants.

 

There's about a million impalas, some zebras and wildebeest at the water hole right now! 7:09am

 

Quick question. Is it normal for the camera to be out completely? I went to it yesterday morning and it was out, then last night about midnight and it was on, but it was as if someone who was drunk was holding the camera... the camera actually followed a bird around for 5 full minutes before settling back on the water hole. Did see some zebras though. Now, this morning it's out again...I just hope when it comes back up it's not zooming all around and up and down, etc. It was making me a little dizzy watching that!

 

Yes, it does go out now and then.

dh and I were watching last night, and someone was zooming way in (all you could see was grass), then way out, then immediately way in, then out, etc., probably for 4 or 5 minutes! It was crazy!

 

Yeah, that's what was happening when I was watching it! Camera was zooming and then it would go up real quick. I turned it on later today and it was working and you could hear people in the background laughing and talking. That was kind of weird. Don't know if it was a tour group or something, but they were definitely having a good time...you could hear them over the crickets!

 

One night there was a lot of drumming and chanting and then laughing. It sounded like a great party.

 

ON Friday nights or something, they seem to have programs in one of the buildings. Probably traditional dancing and war chants and stuff.

 

yea I heard that too. Just thought I was getting a free concert. LOL

 

1:18 pm, Cloudy afternoon in Africa, Impalas playing.

 

Zebra and warthogs this morning. Haven't seen the warthogs in a long time! There is an elephant there too! Now there are some small baboons or monkeys.

 

The elephant is at the waterhole now drinking water. It is so cool to see that.

 

I guess the camera guy is asleep. I can hear the elephant now but the camera hasn't moved with it.

 

He is back on the elephant now.

 

I think the animals have ESP today. As soon as I say they are there they walk off! The elephant just walked away again.

 

Wow, listen to all those crickets, and bugs! Right now, the waterhole is clear, no wildlife, but we can "hear something chewing" near the microphone. Wonder what it is ??

 

There was just an elephant by the waterhole. Then he walked to the side, and the cam didn't follow. It's 4:30am there, so there's probably noone running it right now.

 

I wish they would move the cameral lie they used to when we first started watching this site. They used to be really good at following everything until they were out of site.
